Tax Return for Dummies

Very user friendly, even for me. Have used TurboTax for years - simpler and much cheaper than paying a tax service to prepare taxes
What's great about it: Simple, asks the right questions, incorporates last year's returns
What's not so great: Navigating between files and forms can be challenging
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Doing good!

I have used Turbo Tax for years and will continue to do so as it truly meets my needs as a single woman (widow). Provides concise advice without a lot of foolishness. Comments throughout the experience make me feel like I am really working with someone and that Intuit Turbo Tax is on my side trying to keep this complicated process understandable.
What's great about it: Organized approach to data entry
What's not so great: Making corrections is sometimes still challenging for some of the Vermont State forms.

This is the worst product I have ever used - I can.t get to the "confirmation code" to do anything - it won't print on my Epson printer so I can look at the whole return before I file it - then I can't get to my email to get this mysterious code. I HATE this product - I will never use it again - I would rather do the entire return by hand than use this product again.

It takes time to prepare the data, whether for entry via Turbo Tax or some other method. There are no shortcuts here. Once data is available, entry in TT was very quick
What's great about it: forms very easy to fill out if all info compiled previously

I have a relatively easy tax return so don't need an accountant. I have been using TurboTax since about 1986 and it has continually improved over the years. With TurboTax the hardest part about tax filing is gathering the data, which one would have to do no matter how the tax preparation was done. TurboTax with eFiling is about as easy as tax filing can get.
What's great about it: Makes my tax preparation so much easier than any other way I know
What's not so great: I really have nothing to dislike
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easy to use, takes you through different parts of the tax form quickly. Some parts could use more explanations, such as depreciation of assets, how deductions are calculated.

Turbo Tax Rocks

I have been using Turbo Tax for 18 years and have never had any problems. While others around me stress about tax season I always know that I will have a great experience using Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Very easy to use, never have any problems
What's not so great: none
