It was easy to use. I could look up information and got all of my questions answered.
What's great about it: directions were clear

Not always intuitively obvious how to enter and edit info. Much harder than it used to be to go to where you want to go to check something or make changes. Made me answer the same questions on multiple sequential screens repetitively, even if I had not changed anything. It is at the top of the price that it is worth- if Intuit enforces the change next year to force an upgrade to the next level if you just have some capital gains, then I won't be using it - and I've used Turbo Tax for 11 years.
What's great about it: Carried over info from last year, plus electronic downloading of most of this year's info
What's not so great: Cumbersome to navigate. Did not let me go where I wanted to go when I wanted to go there.

As Easy as Ever

TurboTax made this annual ordeal bearable, as expected. It was a rude surprise to have investment reporting features moved from the Deluxe version and try to move us up to the Premier version. Intuit redeemed themselves on this issue for this year.
What's great about it: Easily walked thru all forms needed to file...again, as expected.
What's not so great: Features tried to move to Premier version
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have been using TurboTax for many years (at least 10) and it keeps getting better and better. I really like the total integration and the ability to import records from the banks/brokers. It has a great built-in help system. I highly recommend it.

This used to be a good product. Now it is absolute garbage. This is the last year I am using TurboTax. Goodbye.

Form 709 for Gift Reporting should be supported. It took me over 4 hours to complete the form by resorting to the IRS Instructions. I'm concerned that I had to pay extra for Turbotax this year because I have a rental. Also the e filing fee to the state is a nuisance, although I did pay it because it saves me printing out hundreds of pages on my slow printer. However, I will be looking at what competitors offer next year in terms of value. Too bad; I've used Turbotax since 2000.
What's great about it: Reasonable amount of time required. Good error checking.
What's not so great: No IRS Form 709 Support. Cost is increasing for Turbotax
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I hate the IRS process. I have depreciation calculations that turbotax can't get right because of multiple 1031's. Turbotax won't let me override their incorrect data AND efile. I like everything else except the way they keep charging another $29.99 because they know I am frustrated with the IRS already. .
What's great about it: pretty good way to enter a bunch of complex data for the IRS
What's not so great: Depreciation Calculations on rental does not account for 1031 properties
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Very easy to use. I truthfully do not remember that much year to year, but when I get into the tax process, it comes back easily. Explanations are written so anyone can understand them.
What's great about it: Step by Step process
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
