I've used Turbo Tax for 5 years now and I love this software. Everything is step-by-step and question driven which reminds me of all the deductions I might not have thougth of without it.
What's great about it: Carryover from previous years saves lots of time, easy to understand, great price for the service.
What's not so great: No cons.

I've used Turbo Tax for very many years. Decided to upgrade this year to Premier for rental property help. It has no added benefits for this purpose. Was not helpful in finding depreciation for rental property upgrades etc. Very disappointed.
What's great about it: Standard

Been a Turbo Tax user for 12 years. This software is easy to use and extremely stable. In all the time I've used it I've never had a software problem. The interface is logical and easy to follow. I can click on links to research an issue if I want more information but I can also just follow the on-screen prompts. My only minor complaint is that many screens have one or two questions and it would seem quicker to be able to move through multiple items on one screen rather than having to move through multiple screens.
What's great about it: Easy to use interface and very logically laid out.
What's not so great: Too many screens with only one question

Do your taxes the way you like not fixed in any one mode. 1. Step by Step questionnaire or 2.Go to the forms or 3. A little of both.
What's great about it: Step by Step or go to the forms or a little of both
What's not so great: calculator should be able to pop up on fields. It was annoying to go to the separate app and cut and paste

Fed + MN fine, IL stunk

No problems or surprises when I did my Federal & MN State returns. However, when I did my non-resident IL State return, I was asked to manually enter many items that I had already entered on my Federal return. I had to search for and pull up the Federal Forms I had just filled out, find a number, then enter that same number on my IL form. Seems like they could write the software to move the info automatically, kind of like what happened while doing my home-state MN return, instead of having me search thru my T.T. forms that I just filled out, to find some numbers to manually enter elsewhere. Just sayin. The worst part was when it found an error and said I needed to enter the correct amount on IL-1040 Form Line 1A. Problem is, there is no Line 1A on the IL-1040 Form, but there is a Line 1, which is to be your Federal AGI. So, since I could not progress any further until I entered an amount, I figured they must have meant Line 1 instead of Line 1A, so I entered my Federal AGI in that box. My refund then changed from $76 to me owing over $5K! I spent the next 30 minutes trying to figure out what the problem was. Then I did an internet search for the IL-1040 instructions and found that the "Instructions" included a worksheet with a Line 1A in it, while the IL-1040 Form did not. So, the appropriate amount for me to enter into the IL-1040 Instructions Worksheet Line 1A was zero, which I then entered. Problem fixed, refund back to $76. Come on TurboTax, I can't be the only numskull running into this problem. You need to specify exactly which form info needs to come from, not take a rough guess as to approximately which form it is. Frustrating indeed, especially considering the cost for the 2nd state T.T., but life goes on I suppose.
What's great about it: The Federal & MN (home) State returns went just fine.
What's not so great: The IL (out of state) State return was very, very cumbersome.

Very Detailed!!!

Very helpful, sometimes puzzling but I wouldn't use anything else. Have used it now for over 15 years and it's the only way to file. Why pay someone to do what you can do yourself. There should be an incentive to get new users each year.
What's great about it: Option of reviewing every area or only the areas you needed
What's not so great: Needed more explanations in all areas.

Filing with Turbo Tax is GREAT

Liked that I was able to, again, file my own taxes and not rely on a Service that does not take the time to be as detailed as the Guide on Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Ability to see side by side comparison to previous year
