21 Years and Counting

I have used TurboTax since the 1994 tax year. Year after year I am satisfied with how well the program works, keeps up with changes, and adapts to new technology. But the things that I like most are the previous year's tax return data import, W2 import, and 1099 imports from Fidelity and others. I can't wait until all my data can be imported from the source.
Thanks TurboTax for the year-to-year consistency!
What's great about it: Import data, step-by-step questions
What's not so great: Can't import from everyone, returning to furtherst point finished after returning to fix something could be improved

Why do I keep using this program

Bought the Investment version of the software. It was misleading me about what most people do in a couple places. It says most people do not track the cost basis of a traditional IRA. It also said most people enter a tracked value of 0. It seemed to skip over asking me about 1099-R forms.
I plan to switch to good old paper forms next year. My tax situation is the same year after year, and Intuit keeps charging me $45 each year for no new features and virtually no support.
What's great about it: Only useful since I am locked into this
What's not so great: Confusing and wrong instructions

Ready, Start, Done!

This fast pace tax tool is the sharpest blade in the shed. Great leaps of improvement making complex tax code into simple questions and fill in the blanks. Connecting all of my annual transactions like a dot to dot picture morphing into a master piece that even the Federal and State governments would accept. There is still magic in this software package.
What's great about it: Looked down for what seemed like 1 second ago, looked up what seemed like a 1 second later, and it's completed.
What's not so great: Some form fields not filled in, but ok, TurboTax found them.

My favorite software for filing taxes

I have use Turbo Tax for over 10 years and never had a problem. I always received my returns on time, never had any trouble filing, no security problems. This year the software was changed and I required an upgrade that I never needed in the past just so I could file simple investments. While I appreciate the free upgrade this year, I worry about what I will be required to buy next year just to file a average return with a few investments.
What's great about it: Easy, fast, secure, reliable
What's not so great: The software and what forms are included have changed

Would like to see printed tax pages as I progress

This is the 3rd year I've used TurboTax. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. The cons: I find it difficult to go backwards and review items. It would be nice to see the "printed" tax return prior to finishing it.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Not easy to go back to other categories to check or change info
