Fast and easy to use. Would like a link to IRS tax publications just for the new things. However, the program guides you to the answers you need.
What's great about it: Imports data from Its Deductible and from you last year

Easier than I thought

Using Turbo Tax makes the painful task of tax filing do-able. I was not intimidated using Turbo Tax, very user friendly. Very grateful Turbo Tax allowed Deluxe users to file Schedule D without added cost, as D was always part of Deluxe version.
What's great about it: step by step walk through of returns
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

This was a breeze using Turbo Tax. Couldn't have been easier. Finished in less than 3 hours. So simple, even a third grader could do it.
What's great about it: Ease of Use
What's not so great: Form 1095-A a little confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

My tax preparation this year was about the same as last year; however, it took me about half the time to complete my federal and state tax returns! Keep doing what you are doing! I'm sure it will get better!
What's great about it: Quick, easy to understand, and best of all, no issues!
What's not so great: ??
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Useful Method of Doing Taxes
on April 13, 2015

Overall a useful tool to do taxes, but 2 shortcomings:
1) Does not easily allow you to go change carry over background information from prior year that has changes.
2) Sometimes the explanations are not clear. I think TurboTax is trying to strike a balance between not providing simple explanations but still trying to explain complicated situations.

No good with College Expenses & Foreign Taxes
on April 13, 2015

So Turbo Tax can't figure out the best way to handle college expenses, since it doesn't consider taking them as an un-reimbursed business expense on Schedule A. This almost cost me $1,000.
And it has no clue on making a selection to "deduct" foreign tax carry forward on Schedule A when in previous years you took a Foreign Tax "credit". If you are headed back over seas to make a buck fine, but if you stay in the USA ever after then after 10 years you will loose your Foreign tax Carry forward and pay higher taxes as a result.
What's great about it: on the computer
