Have used the program for 6 years and until this year have not run across any problems. Will continue to use TurboTax in the future. Was great to find out that I could also complete another return using the same software.
What's great about it: Easy to enter data, fills out required forms and makes calculations.
What's not so great: PA schedule ue kept doubling some amounts, difficult and long process trying to find and fix problem

Peace of mind

We purchased an Apple computer after using a PC for years. We were unsure how to get the 2013 tax info onto our Apple so we didn't have to re-enter everything. My husband spoke to a very helpful and friendly person at Turbo Tax who walked him through it quickly and easily. Voila! I have used Turbo Tax for years and consistently have been satisfied. I also feel that Turbo Tax "recovered well" by offering simple and free upgrades from Deluxe to Premier due to the changes made and where some of the features previously included with Deluxe were no longer available.
What's great about it: error check; flag items to return to; year to year comparison; simple to use Help site

Required Adjustments

I was required to explain adjustments to 1099's that separated earnings from before and after my wife's date of death. The software did not allow me to do so so I had to file by paper. However NYS requires electronic submission but software would not permit submitting NYS electronically because Federal was not submitted electronically.
The explanation of the adjustments was a simple paragraph. One would have thought the software could have allowed such a simple addition.

Just "refund" Uncle Sam

Certain information carried over from previous tax return is very difficult to get rid of them when they no longer apply.

Will not be purchasing again

My Turbo Tax basic has disappeared to be replaced by an unacceptable alternative, which no longer serves my needs. I will be investigating alternative tax preparation software next year.
What's great about it: It did what it does well
What's not so great: Constant requirements to upgrade to complete returns unacceptable

Pretty good but some problems

Did a very large rollover from a 401-k into an IRA, not a Roth IRA.
In the early entries of total income the distribution showed up as income. Checked several times that I had entered it correctly as nontaxable but it showed as income. Spent a lot of time going back and forth to check my entries for fear that the return was going to show a tax of several thousand dollars owed. Finally I just continued on expecting I was going to have a big problem. Only several steps later did the distribution show up still as income but non-taxable. The confusion caused by the forms early entries generated a great deal of anxiety & lost time.

Very helpful in dealing with income received from my parents' estates; and with education expenses for my kids. I feel confident that my return is complete and accurate. I have used TurboTax since 1998; and can't imagine doing my taxes without it.
