Getting Easier and Easier

Getting easier and easier to complete the forms but get worried when you can't see where the information is coming from and going to on the forms until the end
What's great about it: Upgraded to Premier for free when I had a problem
What's not so great: Dont get to see all of the information details anymore

GETS MORE TEDIUS EVERY YEAR

I don't know if it is Turbo Tax or the Fed but this gets longer and more tedius to get through each year. Now that I'm retired I had several 1099 R's to fill in as I took a partial lump sum and a lump sum payment for my vacation and then my year's end income! I liked to never figure if I really got this down to a T or it is all screwed up and I will get hammered because I left out income. We shall see. This is easier than getting everything in order to give to some third party preparer! It was a good thing we paid in extra this year as we went from a multi thousand dollar refund to a couple of hundred this year as no one took out fed taxes on anuity or SS!!
What's great about it: I CAN USUALLY FIGURE IT OUT
What's not so great: MORE COMPLICATED YEAR TO YEAR

Great - Used for years

What's great about it: Like the importing of data from last year, importing from financial institutions and step by step questions
What's not so great: I am dealing with passive activity losses and adjusted depreciation for AMT upon sale of rental property & TT unclear

State Tax Filing really bad!

- Entering RSU awards and sales not straight forward especially when you don't sell
- Not easy when Sales include interest...worksheets don't add up
-State filing very complicated especially when partnership income etc. (non-conforming states) ...reallly bad
