It might be helpful to explain up front for each deduction category, what the constraints are... like 'expenses greater than x% of income are deductible in this category'
What's great about it: it reminds you what you deducted or included last year.

2014 "deluxe" didn't want to deal with my capital gains, but they upgraded for free -- a pain! I've used the same version for years. I didn't change. They changed. Seems stingy to me.
I like the way they import earlier years on my machine, but I still have to make sure they've done it correctly -- they haven't always.
Check boxes below call trading investments a life change. Um. Not a life change.
What's great about it: no math errors; audit probability alert helped me find errors TT didn't
What's not so great: I had to fill out Sched C without benefit of instruction in the "deluxe" version.

Do taxes as easy as ever,

In the last few years I have been a procrastinator and I do not do my taxes until the last moment. TurboTax always saves my bacon as it always makes it easy to be a last-minute filer. Have never used anything but TurboTax and will continue to do so.
What's great about it: Easy to use and does not let you forget anything
What's not so great: againn no problems for the last 15 or 20 years

Doesn't provide information as to who to contact for help. Doesn't provide information as to how to get a refund of the filing fee.

2014 tax return

In my 21st year using TT - overall love TT; wish filing and payment of e-file was simpiler since I do not like having to login to state site to pay but understand that could be due to states (i.e., NC) controlling that. Can't gripe too much usually can get through review and filing Fed and State in one evening.
What's great about it: Easy to follow steps, love carry-over info., tips are very helpful
What's not so great: Sometimes struggle with more advanced topics, need to use web or internet research to augment what's in TT
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2014 Tax

Just Keeps Getting Better

I have always used TurboTax. It's just an easy to follow tax preparation methodology. I appreciate the expanded investment features and the import function. It really does everything I need it to.
What's great about it: Wizard Mode is awesome. A good walk through and a great way to check your independent entries.
What's not so great: Would love to have the 'how are you going to file' selection up front, not at the end.
