Searched online for help and didn't get answer to a question I had. So, I called and asked what worksheets, forms and schedules get efiled. After spending 1/2 hour waiting, got friendly advisor who checked and informed me that 1040 and schedules get filed but no worksheets are sent to IRS. Upon printing and reviewing my return, my document is 90+ pages and it's now very unclear whether she gave me accurate information. Do 90+ pages (includes worksheets and itemizations, depreciation schedules etc) really get sent to IRS?
What's great about it: thorough but maybe too complete in filing efile?

Many Happy Returns

This years version did not provide detail at the individual mutual fund/stock level. I needed this to verify some on the entries.
Otherwise, another excellent product. I have used Turbo Tax for many years and it is the perfect solution for my level of income and deductions. You make me look like a tax expert.
What's great about it: easy to use and provides peace of mind
What's not so great: more detail on investments
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Prolems with state return
on April 13, 2015
Posted by: MOJO403
For two years in a row, the state return generated several blank forms (W2, W2G and several 1099 Div.). They could not be deleted. These made it difficult to get through the reviews of the return. TT does not seem to be able to fix this from one year to the next. This is very disappointing.
What's great about it: Most of the process was easy.
What's not so great: The state return generated several blank forms that were impossible to get rid of.

Very Thorough and easy to understand
on April 13, 2015

Using TurboTax makes filing my taxes almost pleasant. The most difficult tasks are accumulating the deductible amounts during the entire tax calendar as I do not use any software to do that. Fortunately TurboTax Step by Step technique reminds me of every potential deductible item. It even questioned a missing donation from the prior year that I chose not to make this year. The important reminder of RMD's on my IRA's now that I am ancient and forgetful was very helpful. I had forgotten about the 701/2 age requirement. The historical comparison of my tax with several prior years of TurboTax data is very informative for budget planning
What's great about it: Each request for an answer or an amount was easily understood. Import from my brokerage account actually worked.
What's not so great: When revisiting a category to update an amount I find it confusing to exit without repeating earlier answered questions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Deluxe is not enough
on April 13, 2015
Posted by: NeilInGreer
I didn't use TurboTax last year. This year I decided to use the Deluxe version. I receive a postcard in the mail stating that Schedules C, D, E or F are not included in the Deluxe version and returning customers will be upgraded to Premier for free. Well, I am not a returning customer, so this does not apply to me. Left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't why should be using a more expensive tax software in the future. I could have return the software package back to the store, but it was too late because purchased the software in January and filed in April. And besides, I did not notice this until I started filing my tax return.
What's not so great: Had to shell out extra money for Premier
Pros: I bought or sold investments
