Confusion with Turbo Tax

As everyone knows, changes that come without proper clarification cause much frustration and anxiety. When I discovered that TT would not allow me to list 1099-B, I thought I had bought the wrong thing. Then TT came to my rescue by offering the free upgrade to TT Premiere. This might have easily solved the problem, but I could not reach the TT website on my computer, so I had to use another computer. However, I can't blame TT for that. Something about my computer was limiting which web sites I could visit.
What's great about it: Most of Turbo Tax is just like in the past. It is very helpful for filing both state and federal returns
What's not so great: The change from TT Deluxe to TT Home and Deductifons was not good.

Doing K-1's is always a questionable process because there is so much that is hard to understand. But I just follow your lead and take a few liberties when I am not sure of the answer. Is the $400 tax credit on my AZ taxes the result of our gift to the Episcopal Habitat Coalition or should I apply somehow for an additional $400 credit?
What's great about it: Quit easy to use.
What's not so great: The capital gain surprise was too bad this year.

Tax angst removed

Terrific package mae easy for the user! I completed the actual tax returns for both state and federal in just around 2 hours due to the guidance and repopulated information.
The investment change I made was also covered by a free upgrade to Premiere and made accounting for this data painless and simple.
Turbotax is a great product that I continue to use, year after year.
What's great about it: Facilitation and downloads of previous years data.
What's not so great: Need to upgrade to premiere to cover my needs

Disappointed

Seems like you can't bring up last year's return unless you purchased the disk for 2013. It took a lot of extra time to enter all the historical information, and the return gave different results than in the past, particularly with K1 statements. In the past, many pages were filed in this area, but for 2014 Turbotax indicated that nothing needed to be filed because the K1's are part of an IRA account.
What's not so great: Couldn't bring up last year's return

TurboTax made my tax filing experience awful this year. I will never use it again. It was slow and Intuit provides absolutely no common sense support or live person to talk to.
What's great about it: I cannot thinkd of any
What's not so great: slow. Too many bugs. Could not retrieve 2014 tax file after saving it and trying to rertrieve it later

I was confused

I have used TurboTax for years, but was confused this year by the different versions. I have always used the Basic version in the past, but had to upgrade to the Premier this time in order to get all the forms that I needed. I was very disappointed in this change. I felt like I was forced to pay more to get the same thing I had always had in the past. I may not use TurboTax in the future because of this change.
What's great about it: Transfer of past information
What's not so great: Having to update and pay more for different version
