Proofread your programming

In several instances the program asked me for a response, the frame for the question and response came up on the screen, but it was blank. The program would not continue until it received a response. In other cases I got into loops in the questions that were difficult to get out of. One situation that was a headache was the fact that I totaled a car and used the insurance pay out to buy a replacement. The program simply could not understand this.
What's great about it: Good at getting all the obscure forms completed accurately

Keep up the good work!

I've been using Turbo Tax ever since it came out. I usually have fairly complicated returns to prepare and Turbo Tax has walked me through and helped me understand all of it. I've also used the help phone line with a professional tax person for particular situations and was greatly impressed. One year I used another tax product - what a mistake. It was tedious, confusing and I wasn't sure I had even done my return correctly. So, take my tip and use Turbo Tax every year!
What's great about it: Easy to understand & use
What's not so great: none so far

This year's Turbo Tax was a disaster. Poor instructions, very difficult to print properly; no option for mixed methods of filing federal and state returns (either print both or send both electronically). I am finished for this year and also for the future. I've used Turbo Tax for many years, even when it still went by the name "Macintax". However, you may remove my name from your "automatic" resubscribe list because I intend to try out a different program for my 2015 taxes.

It's a major help

I first used TurboTax for the 2003 tax year. Up until that time I owned nothing except a car and only had one source of income. 1040EZ covered all those previous years. In 2003 I purchased a trailer as my primary residence. TurboTax walked me through my first itemized tax returns and has been helping me ever since. Last year I became disabled and lost the trailer partway through the year due to foreclosure, but I still needed TurboTax to help me with the final stuff. Unfortunately, I will be going back to the 1040EZ next year. I will miss the great support and wonderful features of TurboTax.
What's great about it: takes me step by step through everything

What's not so great: The instructions for the state return re 1099R's seem difficult and incomplete. Everyone I spoke to feels the same.

I asked your support people for to assist me submitting my 2014 return as it keeps getting rejected because it doesn't recognize me. The answer I got was to file a 2013 return. I FILED A 2013 RETURN LAST YEAR. This answer doesn't help me.
What's not so great: Everything was great until I got to the E file part. Explanations could have been more helpful.
