2014 Review

You have tried to make this product the do all for every single person and by doing that you have made it so hard to use. You ask so many questions that are unnecessary. Give us credit for having a brain and being able to think a litle.
The craziest thing this year is the statement that I do not owe any taxes on a distribution. What you really mean is I do not owe a penalty for early distribution. It took me a while to figure that one out. Last year the craziest thing was all the things you made us answer to be able to report oil royalities. It is really simple but you assumed we had a business. However I have used Turbo Tax for at least 15 maybe 20 years and I am not changing at this point.
What's not so great: Moving of forms from one product to another without warning
Pros: I bought or sold investments

When I first began using this product it asked a myriad of questions when filing different forms. Now it asks for the information and just enters it without asking additional questions. I have found myself having to dig deeper either into the program or onto the irs website to get justification for the information entered
What's great about it: Format
What's not so great: Not in-depth

Turbo Tax Premier

This is the biggest bargain I purchase every year. I can't believe how much functionality is built into Turbo Tax. If you can read, you can do your taxes.
What's great about it: Lots. Mostly ease of use and explanations.
What's not so great: Haven't found any.

Not Pleased

There were a couple of lengthy items that I had to type into the return that should have been imported from last year's return. Turbo Tax used to prompt for this, but I don't recall any prompt this year.
What's great about it: General ease of use.
What's not so great: Did not import from last year's return, done on Turbo Tax and stored on my computer.
Pros: I moved

Overall, this was a good experience. I did have some trouble with the Rental section, being that I have a primary residence that I also rent out. Took some googeling, and some Turbo Tax support forums Q/A to figure it out. I'm pretty sure I got it right- fingers crossed!!! :|
What's great about it: Lots of info, Polished
What's not so great: Trouble with Rental Section
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

1116/2555 Frustration
on April 13, 2015

It is excellent that Turbo Tax handles all the calcs and has all the forms. THANK YOU!!
When filling out my overseas tax credits I have to select form 1116 manually and fill it out and delete form 2555! There does not seem to be a way to not select the income exclusion option of form 2555. My overseas tax credits more than covers my income therefore I do not want to exclude my overseas income. This has been a problem for years. Please fix it!
Other that that I want to thank you for an excellent tax program.

Easy to Use
on April 13, 2015

I have been doing my taxes for quite a few years with Turbo Tax. If you have investments with income from Cap Gains and Dividends they are quick to import from other financial institutions. I will use it again next year.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Sometimes hard to navigate.
