Effortless & Easy

Once you're filing it keeps you focused and makes filing easy.
What's great about it: It covers all bases but you remain in control.
What's not so great: They should warn you following year to down load new software for next years taxes, if needed.

What's not so great: Changes. I had to upgrade to Premium when I have been using Deluxe for years to do my K1's.

2014 Taxes

1099-S Form for inherited home and sale of said home was extremely difficult to locate and complete with confidence.
What's great about it: Fairly simple to use
What's not so great: Forms not easy to find and complete...

Good but needs HELP

HELP: TT used to have a quick Help button that described the item you are entering... now it doesn't. It refers you to the community. Though the community is very helpful, it takes longer, sometimes quite a bit longer, to find an answer to what might seem a simple question (to a tax pro)...
Previous Years taxes on PDF: TT was not able to read the PDF filed last year. (unfortunately, I lost my TT files upon installing a new computer...my bad, but TT claims to be able to read PDFs. So I had to reenter a lot of data, and was not able to quickly compare to last years taxes.
NJ State very little help... a link describing each entry would be nice...
What's great about it: Smoothly handles what it handles
What's not so great: no quick help, only references to community questions

Good Product

Turbo Tax does an excellent job of completing the Federal and state taxes. It would be nice to have some places in the product where you could print some interim reports to see how your 1040 and other forms are progressing. Otherwise, I am very happy with the product.
What's great about it: Makes filing income tax "almost fun"
What's not so great: Federal tax complexity makes it difficult to plan and complete

The treatment of MLPs needs to be improved. There is a distinct lack of clarity with respect to several inputs.
What's great about it: Everything except MLP treatment
What's not so great: MLP treatment is shakey
