Worked well for charitable trust also

In general very easy to use for complex returns. Turbo Tax even knew to ask me to mail a signed appraisal when I e-filed everything else.
What's great about it: Used for two states, rental property, and charitable trust
What's not so great: Locked source data when switching from "step by step" to forms. Must use "step by step" again to change source data.

Worked great!!

I've been a TurboTax user forever and had high expectations for this year's copy. Everything worked perfectly fine on my MacBook Pro. No hiccups or problems encountered. It found deductions I hadn't thought of too. I'm glad Intuit decided to allow a free upgrade to Premier for those who needed it. I did, and it was a seamless process. No extra charge either. Now THAT'S customer service. Keep it up Intuit and I'll continue to be a repeat customer.
What's great about it: Upgrade to Premier was seamless and $0 more... oh yea
What's not so great: couldn't find anything
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Disappointed

Been a long time user of Turbo Tax. Software remains easy to use and had very positive experience with customer service. But the EXTRA charges for required upgrades, 2nd State forms and state e-flings will likely impact my decision next year to look for alternate tax filing software.
What's great about it: Ease of use is consistently good
What's not so great: EXTRA charges for required upgrade to Premier, as well as 2nd State and State e-filings
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Needs one important addition.

In 2014 I gave myself 2 allowances, which were made to sound as though not much difference would be made during tax time.
For 2013 I received about $2k. This year I owe $1200. The whole entire time, Turbo Tax is making me feel good that I am going to get a maximum return. But no. I owe, and don't know why between one tax form telling me one thing, and tax time comes and its something completely different.
I would like to know what I could do in the future that could actually "maximize my return." Or if turbo tax can explain in simple detail why I have to owe money and what to change this year so that I earn money back.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is easy to get through for the common person
