Outstanding Tax Prep. Program. I have used Turbo Tax for several years.

Second time around

This is my second year with Turbo Tax .... felt much better and I'm a lot more confident that I did everything 100% correctly.
I did have to go back and look for instruction about refunds and estimated taxes. Really should have been a question and a 1 click response ...
I really should not have had to figure it out.
Really minor complaint ... this is a GREAT product
What's great about it: Really very intuitive
What's not so great: Couple of things could be easier

Load Off My Mind

Turbo Tax asks all the right questions up front so you don't have to wade through needless forms that do not apply to your situation. They review everything that could be pertinent to your filing status. Anything that could flag a return for audit is reviewed and corrections are made if needed. The tax code is not something most individuals understand, however, Turbo Tax seems to have a very effective way of using the information the client gives to the very best tax advantage.
What's great about it: Easy to understand format.
What's not so great: None really

After getting started, I was prompted that the 2014 Deluxe TurboTax no longer would process my minimal investment transactions with capital gains and losses. In order to continue, I had to upgrade to the Premier version at an added $34. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place!!!
In past years, the Deluxe version handled these transactoins just fine. I'm not happy about this added cost.
What's great about it: Easy to use with good instructions.
What's not so great: This year, I was forced to upgrade at an added cost to handle a limited number of mutual fund MRD transactions.

Bad Year for Turbo Tax

It was impossible to transfer prior info even though have been using it for years. Very hard to navigate. Why keep returning to screens that should be at the end to edit??
Hard to tell which version to use. They want you to buy the most expensive and hope it's the right one

The overall use of turbo tax is easy but there needs to be some way that the repetious questions can be eliminated, especially for experienced preparers.
What's great about it: The return covers everything
What's not so great: Needs to have shortcuts for experienced prepareers

confusing payment method

TURBO TAX has been the best tool for me since I've been retired. I have previously purchased the CD and everything went smoothly until this year I downloaded it from on line and everything went smoothly until I got to the payment method. I elected to pay the state tax by mail and not by e-mail but it didn't want to let me so I back tracked to get through it and it hopefully will work.
What's great about it: TURBO TAX has worked for me for several years
What's not so great: confusing payment method
