Endless Loop at Times

The reporting of state allocation of dividends requires a HUGE amount of recording, and not useful! An error message took me to an endless loop of error messages even after I fixed it. Apparently the program will only recognize the correct answer if it is correct AND is entered in the right order of items. Very Frustrating!
What's great about it: Mostly very good!
What's not so great: State allocation of dividends report took me into endless loops of errors. Took a LONG time to fix on my own.

I have used Turbo Tax for years, one thing I don't like is to buy the software every year.

Great user experience

I was disappointed that my "Deluxe" version did not include the capability to deal with basic investments like stocks. The resolution- to pay the upgrade fee and get a credit back after filing- was not in keeping with my previous experience.
I do taxes on a volunteer basis for low-income and elderly and really appreciate the narrative flow of the software versus the free version (by another company) we use to prepare returns.
Software is great, but the pricing is getting to be high for the product.

What's great about it: Easy to use and follow. I particularly appreciate the narrative format.
What's not so great: Extra fees.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Quick and easy

I don't know how many years I've been using TurboTax (at least 10, maybe 15). It's always simple and easy to use. I've never been audited and feel confident I'm getting the biggest refund possible. Great product!

There are a few changes every year that confuse me. For example, I have a pension CSA1099R form which shows gross amount and taxable amount in box 1 and box 2. This year I entered both but the pop up screen show the gross amt and confused me. I ran the return and it dropped on the tax form I mailed in, the gross and taxable on the correct lines
What's great about it: Turbo tax does all the comps....I love the download feature so all my capital gains, etc with my investment manager

Awful Experience!

Frustrating because it keeps saving data from when I was self-employed, and I cannot seem to remove this information from my returns. REPEATEDLY completely crashed my computer! Would not use this inflexible product again due to these EXTREME frustrations!! NOT worth the money!!
What's great about it: Asked good questions about deductions, gave good details.
What's not so great: Keeps taking prior data from returns when I was self-employed, and I cannot remove them. KEEPS CRASHING MY COMPUTER!!

First started with taking away features that were included in the past. Not as easy this year... many things that were filled in in the past were not this year. several other issues as well.
