Turbo Tax is infinitely better than manually filling out forms.
What's great about it: The guaranteed accuracy
What's not so great: References to previous years were inaccurate. Free state tax e-filing should be part of higher end programs.

Getting more complicated

It never let me automatically enter my rental mortgage 1098, when it did the Maid Home real estate taxes it indicates don't enter your rental here we'll get to that, but then it never did. I had to get out last years and find and compare the wksht to see what I was missing. If I left easy step, it could not find how to get it started again, and when I said go to where i left off, it just took me to a main category where I had to start all over from the beginning. The second state tax file,w as way too expensive, I have to do my mothers taxes in the nursing home, and then mine two different states which is not unusual for this era when job change and people have to move. A second state should be included.
What's great about it: love that it compares my last year data
What's not so great: had to manually find my place

stop making us login through the net

If this factor is not removed from Turbo-tax next year, I'll most likely stop using it.
What's great about it: Makes sense out of the nonsensical tax code
What's not so great: I'm not in favor of having to log in to a file through the net

EASY and fast

Very easy to navigate. found all our answers in the help section. Easy e-file process. Downloaded the program. Never hung up or had to start over.

Used software for approximately ten years

I have used this software for close to ten years. I am married to the software, because it loads my previous year's data, so that kind of influences my decision to use it year after year. It is very easy to use, but for the complicated calculations like foreign tax credit and approximating state sales tax, I felt like it did not ask the question in a way that made me feel comfortable it was doing a good job. Overall, it is a very good tax preparation software, and I have no reason to change.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: I am not confident with the way it calculated the foriegn tax credit.

Mom's Taxes

I've been using TurboTax since 1993 and generally like the product. Since I've been doing my Mother's taxes starting in 2003 when my Dad passed away, the product asked when when he passed away each year. It also asks if the same IRA's were inherited each year. While doing her taxes this year it asked me the same question 4 times - Was he born before 1941, between 1941 and 19xx or after 19xx. It seems like this information would be saved.
What's great about it: Imports info from previous years.
What's not so great: Asks same questions that were answered previously.
