Good But No Cigar

Download version maintains consistency in the overall flow and questions from year to year. This helps get back in the groove of using the app. As always, the Helps were useful. The new questions relating to PPACA were well placed.
On the not-so-great side, the state I was filing for this year uses different rules from Federal to determine dependents and TurboTax did not allow for that. The State section that permits editing of dependents imported from the Federal return should also allow a new dependent to be added.
What's great about it: Consistent look and feel
What's not so great: One little glitch on dependents

I started using TurboTax for my 2013 taxes. I'd heard about it for years but always thought paying someone else an insane amount of money to do the same thing I could do with TT was a better idea. Now that I've started using TT I will never go back to using an accountant. It's easy, simple, fast, always accurate, and I can do my taxes according to my schedule, not someone else's.
What's great about it: Fast, easy, correct
What's not so great: Nothing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

My Go To Software

I like the step by step process of Turbo Tax. However, maybe it's just the U.S. tax code, but the software is still more complicated than it needs to be. It's easy to miss deductions or put them in the wrong categories without prior knowledge of doing taxes. I like to do my own taxes because I don't trust accountants anymore. But once you know how the tax system works, it makes you wonder why it has to be this complicated.
What's great about it: Good Step by Step
What's not so great: Still too complicated
