Another easy year!

Love the fact that i can do my taxes fast and easy at home. Filing is easy even with having a rental property.
One feature I would like would be if most sections would allow for a notes field, to add custom notes as reminders for following years returns.
What's great about it: Easy to install, finds my w2s online automatically, cheaper than going to a tax service, fast and easy
What's not so great: Weird bug in logging deductions, switching between users

Doing taxes this year was just as easy as last year but would not have been if we were not automatically upgraded to Premier.
What's great about it: All my last year data was available
What's not so great: Deluxe version needed to be upgraded

I've been using Turbo Tax since before you could eFile. As I've grown older and my family and financial situation has changed, Turbo Tax has always covered everything I needed (even when things got really complex while living overseas for a few years). I'm fairly proficient with most parts of the process, and I like that Turbo Tax lets you switch easily between direct entry and interview modes. Considering what I'd pay for a CPA or "the Block-heads" to fill out my taxes, Turbo Tax is also a great bargain.
What's great about it: Flexible entry, complete, quick

Mixed Feelings

I was very disappointed in TurboTax this year. The whole process is much more complex than last year and I had to buy the "Premier" edition to accomplish the same thing I did with the Delux version last year. In addition, the "explanations" and "help" screens for state returns are minimally helpful #often create more questions than they answer#. Some of the items are so "detailed" as to be meaningless #i.e. "charity miles driven" requires the mileage of multiple trips and the number of trips, when the tax form only requires the total mileage. When you have several trips of varying mileage, you have to lie and say it's only one trip, or take the total and divide by the number of trips then round off - much more work than necessary#. Also, going back to specific forms is very difficult and it's almost impossible to print a single page while you're doing the return.
What's great about it: Thorough
What's not so great: Too complex, too much minutia, kept "freezing" my computer, extra cost from last yer to cover the same items!!!

Turbo Tax makes complex IRS rules less scary.

There is no way to list my United Way W2 recurring contribution amount in the ITsdeductible Summary Form as supporting documentation because Turbo Tax already pulled the amount from W2 Box 14 and included. I had to find the Schedule A, Line 16 Cash Contributions Worksheet and attach the worksheet with the Summary Form to provide the IRS clear documentation. Providing clear supporting documentation lessens the chance the tax return will be returned to the tax payer for tax adjustment or an audit.
What's great about it: The step by step instructions are very good.
What's not so great: Cash Contributions-W2 recurring United Way amount is not listed.

I'm an avid user of Quicken Home & Business and TurboTax Premier and have been for over a decade. I periodically look into other financial tracking and tax software, but have not found any that compare to Intuit's product.
Please keep up the good work. Dave
What's great about it: User Friendly
What's not so great: None

Turbo Tax since 1997
on April 12, 2015

I have used Turbo Tax every year from 1997 to 2014. I am very happy with the software. Turbo Tax probably did not search all possible storage locations for my 2013 taxes, but this could be due to PC upgrades and possible file location for the previous tax.
What's great about it: Great way to file taxes and receive maximum refund
What's not so great: DId not find 2013 Turbo Tax stored on this computer
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

My situation has some complexity - rental property, business expenses, investments...but it was pretty painless and relatively fast. About 2 hours start to finish (including looking for a couple documents). Highly recommend Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use, quick, navigation is intuitive
What's not so great: none
