This is such easy software that walks you through the complicated world of annual tax filing for individuals....
What's great about it: walk through with ease the complicated world of taxes

E-Filing Is So Easy and Convenient!

We've been using TurboTax for more than three years now and haven't had any problems with it. Inputting our data was an effortless experience and we also feel confident that all our personal information is protected and safely handled. We will definitely continue to use TurboTax!
What's great about it: The step-by-step explanation of what to input was extremely helpful
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It's the best

I've been using Turbo Tax by Intuit since the time that I bought my first copy of Windows and started using a cable internet provider. I had been figuring taxes for myself and other members of my family by hand. That was over 15 years ago. I've used several different tax calculators and finally decided that this one is written, updated, and supported right. I haven't been disappointed with the software yet. I haven't tried any of the competition lately, but when I did, I noticed that Turbo Tax is by far the leader in being 'user friendly'. I've used customer service a couple of times in the past and was completely satisfied.
What's great about it: It makes doing my taxes a lot easier to understand
What's not so great: Sometimes there are minor bugs that are manageable

Not great for managed accounts

Rather than helping with importing information necessary to generate for 1116s as needed, it tries to automatically generate them. But it can only generate a single 1116 per 1099B, so if a 1099Div has more than three countries OR the same country it is found on more than one 1099Div you are sunk from getting anything useful. I'm several hundred dollars the poorer this year (and last) as a result of the inability of TT to deal with paid foreign taxes very well.
What's great about it: Mostly does a good job
What's not so great: Terrible support for foreign tax credit
