More detailed instructions needs to be included in filling out specific data points for completing K-I forms
What's great about it: Covers very basic info
What's not so great: Questions to complete didn't clearly identify where items go.

I have used tax software for 20 years...Love turbo tax for do it yourselfer...I like to understand where every dollar goes and why some deductions are allowed while others are not. It helps me plan for the next year. But For some of the more complex issues, such as a loss or theft, TTax doesn't explain during the interview why you're not allowed a deduction and thus should not even go through. I had to find the reason in the form. Really appreciate the education credit explanation this year. It is good to see each credit or deduction values and that the software is looking at the different scenarios.
What's great about it: love the interview process - education section improved!
What's not so great: doesn't explain when you don't qualify for some deductions

What's great about it: Have used it for years, Easy to follow through, good guidance, like the back-up/recheck/double check capabil capability
What's not so great: Print needs to be bigger for these old eyes.

easy and quick

I've used TT for years. Excellent and always reassuring that I'm doing the right thing. BUT in some areas like dividends or investments accounts, I'm not always 100% sure what is coming next - whether I have answered yes or no correctly. AND at the end, I wish it was just slightly more clear as to WHEN you were going to print your return. There's those instructions to print the preview and you think THAT might be the time the software wants you to print but no....the opportunity comes right at the end as well as when to save as a PDF.
What's great about it: step by step is comforting
What's not so great: not always 100% sure about forms numbers and why

Does the job, could be better

I have used TurboTax every year since it came on floppy disks so I certainly think it is a good tool. It appears to be getting more difficult to navigate through it if one decides to change an entry to see what the consequences would be ("what-if" scenarios). Also, when some of my deductions did not meet minimum requirements TT seemed to just ignore them in its calculations; a note saying why they weren't used would be beneficial.
What's great about it: Quick, hits all the issues, cheaper than a CPA
What's not so great: Occasionally difficult to navigate, do "what-if?" scenarios
