One thing that has always bothered me with TurboTax. When you enter information in the "Pick the items myself" section, when you are done filling out an item it returns you to the top of the page and you have to scroll back down to where you just finished. It would be better to return you to the spot on the page where you just finished so you could continue with the next item in line. I almost missed entering my sales tax because of this, which would have cost me several thousand dollars!

Working with the program

Have used Turbo Tax for years. This version seemed to be more difficult in going through the steps. I prefer it not to show all the entry levels until I complete one. It was confusing trying to go back to see what I had completed and what was the next step. This was different than previous years.

I buy it every year. Transfers last years information from last years forms so I can see what I used last year and know what to focus on this year.
What's great about it: Does wonderful job. Confusing at times
What's not so great: No Michigan 1040CR-2 Really needed it. Include it next year.

So Easy! So Thorough!

When I lost the services of my tax preparer, I was very anxious about filing my taxes on my own. I found TurboTax and have never looked back! I really like that it imports my previous year's info into my current report. I like the step-by-step, detailed questioning so I don't miss any deductions. I like the Audit Defense service; it gives me peace of mind. I will continue to use this service in the years to come.
What's great about it: imports my tax information from previous year into current year
What's not so great: I don't have any cons.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have used Turbo tax for years and highly recommend it.
What's great about it: The ease and ability to download 1099's, choosing what to work on, carryforward of prior year and checking as you go.
What's not so great: None really

I did not like the idea of using an Intuit password for saving a file on my home computer. There was too much noise about TT problems this year for me to trust it.
I've read that I am supposed to get a refund since I did not really need this level program. There were no instructions in completing this return about how to get the refund. WHY????
What's great about it: Entries same as last year
What's not so great: Use of Intuit Password for encrypted file saved to computer
