Complications made simpler, not perfect, profess

liked the ease of being walked through the LP K1 forms and the other ins & outs of state & local taxes. The exceptions to the rules kept creeping in and the end result is I paid large fees to the states; whereas if the questions were structured differently I might have been clear on how the tax was paid prior to jumping the gun...no way I could have waded through the forms and all the old paper way!
Looking forward to improvements next year to ease my l;oad further.
What's great about it: Easy walk throughs
What's not so great: Questions asked in wrong order
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Good Product

I use the program to do my fathers, my brothers and my returns. Each have major differences, one retired, one a teacher with wife (who works) and 2-children, and one single and in the construction/engineering field.
What's great about it: Easy to install, easy to enter information
What's not so great: Price could be lower

Enjoy a Attempted Money Extraction While Filing

The program creates stumbling blocks and then opens up an escape if the filer will pay more money for a non-necessary function or one that is absolutely not wanted.
What's great about it: Liked the pint out after figured out how to avoid money grabs.
What's not so great: At nearly every step program seeks to perform step to solicit more money.

FIRST TIMER

My very first time and I love it, takes some time for a first timer but saved me over $500.00 from what a major tax prepare business charged me last year, my brother has used for years and sold me on trying it GREAT SERVICE!!
What's great about it: covers every possible deduction or scenario, search box very detailed,
What's not so great: for first timer takes a little time-be patient

difficulty with transition online to download

I started with the online version, I couldn't import 1099 info because there were too many entries. I had to switch to the CD/Download version which required me to re-enter. Should have been a way for 2 versions to have merged

Not worth the $$ for me

This will be my last year using Turbo Tax. My return is not that complicated and with the cost of purchasing the latest Turbo Tax PLUS the added cost of State e-filing, it is much more economical for me to take to a local tax preparer.
What's great about it: Somewhat easy to use
What's not so great: Misleading that state filing is extra

Same Quality Product as Usual

There were a lot of complaints about this year's version of Turbo Tax, but to me it was the same quality product that I've used for the past 10 years. It was more expensive this year, which is a big con, but all things considered, it is more than worth the money spent.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: More expensive than last year
