Very Good Product
on April 12, 2015

As I said the product is very good. For the most part it is easy to use. However, I do find the sections on 401K's, Stocks, retirement related areas require more thought than other areas.
What's great about it: Easy to use and accurate.
What's not so great: Some tax areas can be a little confusing.

Still the Best Tax Software
on April 12, 2015
Posted by: Pews
The 'take me through step by step' options in Turbo Tax and the 'explain this' options answered my questions. I feel confident my taxes were filed giving the best informed answers needed. Even more peace of mind -- Turbo Tax guarantees professional help if needed.
What's great about it: Provides exact reference to previous year's tax form and line if you need to extract info for current tax filing.
What's not so great: Put your file copy pages in order as they fall out the printer. There is no 1 of 16, 2 of 16, 3 of 16, etc.

Costing to much
on April 12, 2015
Posted by: Kojac1
I have been using for years, now you are breaking apart versions to charge more, like rental Schedule E no longer in Deluxe. Also changing for states, then also charging for e-filing the state as well. Becoming very expensive!!
What's great about it: Helpful in filling out forms
What's not so great: breaking apart versions to charge more and cost of state taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

more buggy than ever
on April 12, 2015
Posted by: jackfromorinda
This year was exceptionally bad with so many problems of updates, upgrades (Premier supposedly free never downloaded, had to buy a brand new version of premier in addition to my regular turbotax), states did not download - I had to use a software tool to clean states to enable download of states - hours of research and tries and errors)... a regular user for a decade+ but likely to switch next year. enough is enough
What's great about it: hopefully adds numbers well
What's not so great: a nightmare to download - no free premier version inspite of what's promised, states did not download, ...

Doing it myself
on April 12, 2015
Posted by: Mactax15
I have used Turbo Tax for the last 6 years, however with all the information that exist and documents received from multiple companies, banks, employers, etc. there is always the concern if I'm doing the right thing.
I'll like to count with an assessor or online help, included with the software to check certain questions.
Even upgrading the software to a Premium version the topics are confusing as they don't correspond 100% to the documents received by the broker.
I'll give it another chance this year and check with Tax Expert to confirm if I'm entering all possible categories for deductions.
What's great about it: I like the fact of being guided thru the process of filing taxes and having all the options available by steps.
What's not so great: Its always a doubt if I'm doing it correctly or missing something

Great Program Except for Fed/State Differences
on April 12, 2015
Posted by: Wetheel
Overall I'm a huge fan! Wish the program could accommodate a situation where you file Federal MFJ and State MFS. Fix that and I will give you five stars!
What's great about it: Easy to use, confidence, thoroughness, great customer service
What's not so great: Can't handle filing Fed taxes and State Taxes differently
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Gets it done

I've used an accountant and TurboTax. Unless you've got something tricky with unearned income or want to be tricky, TurboTax does what it is supposed to do and is easy to use.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Always wonder if I missed something
