Two steps backward from last year

I have a small music business and the Premier edition has always sereved my needs. This year I was pushed toward a higher level needlessly. I also encountered several areas where I had to research on my own when TurboTax should have guided me as in the past. It took me twice the time to do my taxes this years with basically the same stuff. Why? I also had a lot of trouble getting things to print out because it kept hanging up. Then suddenly things began to work. Why?
What's great about it: It always works
What's not so great: Too many pit falls compared to past years.

Another year of the tax return blues

I love the way the forms are filled in from the last years TurboTax return. Also the ease of downloading the forms from my financial institutions, I just wished my employer was able to have the information to download into TurboTax also.
The main effort I must contend with is reviewing the downloaded information while also making sure it matches what is sent to me by the financial institutions.
Thank you for making a very good product.
What's great about it: The automatic form filling
What's not so great: Relearning my way through the reveiw of the filled out forms
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Making a Painful Job Less So

As someone without any significant working knowledge of financial or taxation matters, I have found Turbo Tax to be a very helpful and easy-to-use tool in the preparation and filing of my annual taxes. The directions are usually concise and easily understandable, and in circumstances where they may be more detailed, extra information is provided for clarification. The submission of data follows a logical pattern, and also provides summaries that make it easy to go back and find the appropriate category to make adjustments if necessary. There is also a review of the information provided to check for errors for added security in producing an accurate return. It is also helpful that the information provided on the federal return is then carried over to the state return as well.
What's great about it: The carryover of information from last year's return to this year's return.
What's not so great: That the program doesn't automatically include Audit Defense in the purchase price.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2014 Short Form
on April 11, 2015

Overall process was reasonably quick. Initial trip through forms did not catch Earned Income Credit, some questions on filling out education loan data, and review failed to catch lack of check boxes for Health and W-2 related income. Will likely use again for next year based upon simplicity of personal taxes and limited needs.
What's great about it: Summarizes easily and transfers data throughout.
What's not so great: Review did not catch lack of check box for Health form issues initially and need for None of These check box for income.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Unlike last year, I had to buy the state efile to get my forms. Rip off since I already pay for the Premier and feel that since I can do fed for free or a lot lower cost. Last year I was allowed to print out my state forms without having to pay the extra money, but you had to stick it to me this year...Thanks - you may have lost me next year.
What's great about it: good all around program
What's not so great: Failed to allow me to print the state return unless I payed for efile
