Bummed We Owe!

Overall, Turbo Tax is a great product that allows me to complete my taxes in the privacy of my own home without getting out of my pajamas. I love a lazy Saturday doing my taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Some explanations were hard to interpret

disappointed in the changes in TT

The new changes to TT make it much harder to complete your taxes. Our biggest issue was that we had something we weren't sure if we needed to report. Instead to helping us find that out, we were simply directed to purchase the next version of TT ($30 more). After much investigation on the IRS website, we concluded that we did need to report it. I paid for the updated version of TT. Once we got into the new program, there were no additional instructions or help to walk through the calculations. I had to go back to the IRS instructions myself and work through it. Then, I had to use the TT community #not tax experts) to help me figure out which cells to put it in. Essentially I had to pay an extra $30 just to have a space to put the numbers that I'd had to work out myself. I have used this program for years, but I will be looking for something else next year.
What's great about it: imports data from previous returns
What's not so great: new changes make the program more difficult to use

Great tools, reluctant to file early, with all updates that continue up to last couple weeks,
What's great about it: Carry forward all data prior years, download invest earnings etc
What's not so great: Some concerns wirh all - fixes and updates
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I was anxious about filing this year due to recent conversion of 2nd house to rental property. Turbo Tax (Investments & Rental Property) CD may the process clear and concise.
What's great about it: Able to preview details of deductions.
What's not so great: Easier access to IRS booklets for further details and explainations

Good for a person who wants to file their taxes without having to understand the tax code.
What's great about it: Leads you through to figure out what forms you need rather than you having to know.
What's not so great: The answers for questions aren't always on topic.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
