I was very pleased TurboTax Premier

I was very pleased with the guidance through all of the steps needed to complete my tax return. I have LMP shares that result in K1 reports rather than standard 1099-DIV forms. These are almost impossible to process by an amateur without expert assistance such as in the Turbo Tax Premier edition.
What's great about it: The software stepped through all of my needs.
What's not so great: A few of the questions were confusing - such as questions about paying for my own health insurance under the K1 question

Easy as Always

TurboTax was great as always, and the step-by-step process makes it really easy without worrying about having to fill out any forms. In fact, you don't even see them until they're filled out at the end. The layout is great. You can choose to individually work in separate parts of the return on your own or be guided using the step-by-step process. I was able to go back and forth between the two. I had missed a couple items on my Federal return and was able to go back and change them, then pick up with the "guide me through the process" at the appropriate spot.
Con: my income types did not change from last year, but this year, Intuit decided I needed Premiere rather than the Deluxe version of Turbotax, but I was on the verge of that, anyway. Not a big deal.
What's great about it: Walks me through everything
What's not so great: Got more expensive this year

Making The Complex Simple

Have used Turbo tax for years and it has always been the best way to accurately achieve the best results for my taxes. The software has always run on a solid foundation of clear, concise, up to date tax laws and process. I have been pleasantly surprised at how each year the mechanics of the software get easier to use and more helpful. It is very clear that the developers are tax payers and take a lot of time to put themselves in my place as I trudge through the unpleasant annual experience of filing my taxes.
Nice Job Turbo Tax!

What's great about it: Variety of expertise in all areas of Tax at all levels.
What's not so great: Time it takes to gather all the support detail....Somewhat unavoidable.

Finally finished

Spent too much time trying to figure out how to report 1099 revenue from my mineral leases. When I went to TT help, it appears several other people had the same problem. I finally called Customer Service and after about one-half hour on the phone we hopefully solved the problem. The Customer Service representative was very helpful.
What's great about it: great customer service to fix my problem
What's not so great: Software was not clear on reporting revenue from mineral leases

Not detailed as if should be

Looking up information on personal losses - not discussed or covered in TT Premier. Expensive when all are done.
What's great about it: simple interface, short time to do tax,
What's not so great: Does not explain very well - unique situations not covered - close but does not cover all situations

turbo tax is good

I was lucky that I did my taxes SO late in the game that turbo tax had already corrected the debacle with changing the deluxe version to require users to have use the premier version for things they had done in the past with deluxe. I truly hope they keep it the same for next year and don't decide to try this stunt again next year. I was happy that I got the free upgrade (without really having to do anything)... I would've been a bit annoyed if I had to fill out a form to get a rebate for purchasing premier. But, they took care of it (for this year) so I will continue to use it next year... unless they try something like they did again this year - I may have to switch to something else.
What's great about it: worked like usual
What's not so great: heard you may change it next year?

Some Irritation

It is helpful, that's why I continue to use it, inspite of some irritating moments. It could be better.
When showing 1099s, need to highlight what TT recognizes as taxable vs non-taxable, took a while to tell. Was worried I entered the data wrong.
How come TT doesn’t save the charitable donation list from the previous year entries, many are repeatable. Even though we took the Standard Deduction, we still entered that information and may be useful this year.
Why printout several vouchers for paying estimated taxes for 2015 when I didn’t need them or ask for them?
Would have been nice if the "what you owe or will get back" window updated each time you make an entry so I'll know the effect is what I expected.
What's great about it: fills out and provides the forms for you.
What's not so great: cumbersome to browse the input files, unable to print out summary pages, etc
