Overall very easy and useful

I have been using TurboTax for many years and like it quite a bit. I have investments to manage and it makes it very easy. I like that it asks me all the questions and provides explanations so I usually can figure out what I need to do. And of course does all the arithmetic for me without me worrying about whether I figured it correctly. I also like that it imports data from my broker.
One thing I don't like, however, is that if I go back to amend something in an earlier screen, it makes we walk thru the rest of it again, even though I already entered all that data. It is unclear at that point if I can skip those steps or not since sometimes the info is there and sometimes it isn't.
When using the EasyStep process, you need to address this scenario and make it easy and obvious to skip already completed steps.
What's great about it: Asks a lot of questions and provides guidance and explanations
What's not so great: Makes me redo work if I go back to change something earlier

Just one big glitch

We've been users for more than 10 years and love the ability to incorporate information from previous years' returns and from our brokers. HOWEVER, this year we ran smack up against a huge wall when TT informed us that the Deluxe version couldn't be used to complete Schedule D, a very common form, and then when we tried to take advantage of the free download of the Premier version, it wouldn't let us, no matter how many times we tried to log in, get a new password, etc., etc. Incredibly frustrating. But Josh from tech support saved the day -- we were on the phone for over an hour and fortunately he was able to break through the blockage and get us the upgrade, after which it was very easy. We run into one significant problem every year (although not the same one every year) and we keep coming back because, well -- when it's good, it's very, very good. It's just that sometimes it's horrid.
What's great about it: When it's good, it's very, very good . . .
What's not so great: But when it's bad, it's horrid.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been using it for 25+ years. It gives me a good progression of my taxes. It makes getting started with taxes easy. State and Federal are great. Local in Ohio is in need of some work! I don't really use it
What's great about it: detailed but user friendly
What's not so great: Generly help is great but could use some more detailed help on some topics

to a mechanic, there could be more detail "plain english" on all items. you have plenty of space to give maximum expanations of deductible items in their specific categories.

Easy to use

Very easy to use and set up. It took me 30 min to file my state and federal taxes. Works fine with ADP as it imports all your W-2 data which saved me a lot of time.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
What's not so great: Extra cost if e-filing for a state even if you buy the top tier version

Good and easy to use

It is good and easy to use. Nice feature to download W2 and 1099. The Federal and State Tax due at the top screen is also nice as a guide to encourage entering more deduction or stop entering deductions (ex:if the deduction that we have is much lower than the limit).
the downloaded form from Mutual fund has ordinary dividend and capital gain. The capital gain does not show clearly in the list of income.

Family Taxes Done

After a rough start with the purchase of my normal Deluxe Turbo tax purchase and finding out it did not have the forms I normally used to complete my taxes I was not a happy customer. I contacted Turbo tax and they got me what I needed, but that delayed my start so I am much later filing than normal. Overall complete and easy to follow. 2 biggest annoying factors. You have to enter every item/receipt for charity. I have already done that in my budget spread sheet for the year and have a total to enter. I do not like to enter it again in Turbo Tax. Also would be nice if they let you just keep moving and not have to circle back to main screens so you can see your progress. "You completed another section of deductions" It is super helpful to toggle back and forth between forms and screens but it would be much easier if after looking at the forms it would bring you to the area where you completed that in the directions.
What's great about it: Used it for years and know how it works
What's not so great: Kept having to fill in items already completed when I review my work

Overall could be better. NEEDS to save more so not so much repeat. Did not save first time. HAD to do it twice. Another comproble product I would try it. THIS IS BUL
