A very helpful software

Overall, a great software package. Easy to use and user friendly. When it comes to options, like: standard vs. itemized deductions, the system shows which one is better for you, but does not show how to select the better option.
What's great about it: Good guidance and user friendly.
What's not so great: Not easy to flip between standard and itemized deductions

Problems

90% great - but for those items you get stuck on, thumbs down. You can go to the help section and still not figure out what Turbotax wants or needs. It brings you back over and over. I went out to Goggle search to see if I could get help.
Additionallly for the price of Premiere, you should do free efile for both state and federal.
What's great about it: I love turbotax for allowing me to file by myself, but
What's not so great: It gets stuck on some details and brings you back over and over, without giving you info to find answer

Tax prep made relatively easy

Overall made taxes easy. There is a situation though that I get confused on and it would be nice to be able to ask a tax professional how they would approach the situation. I do read through the explanations turbo tax provides as well as the links to the IRS but there always seems room for interpretation.
What's great about it: It really helps to have the info transferred from the prior returns
What's not so great: Sometimes I have ?s that seem too complex for the provided answers or where there can be room for interpretation

Long time customer

I've been using turbo tax for more than 10 years and love this product but...This year I was disappointed with the way I forced to upgrade to Turbo Tax Premier from Deluxe. As I'm getting toward the end of federal return I get a notice I have to upgrade to be able to enter Investments gains & losses. Note I don't download them anyway but enter them manually. It took me several hours and several phone calls to get my upgrade processed. Now I'm sure I'll be locked into a more expensive version every year!
What's great about it: Good product. Easy to use.
What's not so great: Forcing me to upgrade from Deluxe to Premier in the middle of my data entry was confusing and time consuming. ugh!

Personal and State Income Tax Returns

After using professional tax return programs for a many years, I am surprised and happy with the Turbo Tax product for individual returns. You can purchase the level of return that is necessary for your individual needs, whether it be Corporate, Small Business, Sch E Income, or a simple return.
What's great about it: Accurate and detail oriented. Covers Healthcare well.
