Easy & Thorough

TurboTax is great value. We used to pay an accountant to complete our tax returns and after two different accountants made errors, one resulting in us having to pay a penalty, I decided to try TurboTax. It's very easy to use and very thorough. BIG refunds this year!
What's great about it: TurboTax goes through ALL possibilities to find you a refund.
What's not so great: Once in a while I run across a question I don't fully understand

I normally purchase TT Deluxe. This year I purchased TT Premier because we had a house we rented part of the year then sold. We also sold my mother's house which was left to me as an investment when she passed. To add to the confusion, the two houses were in two different states from where we live. The program was helpful but I am going to have to wait and see if everything was covered. I am a big fan of Turbo Tax but this was a crazy year. Hope the IRS doesn't come to see me.
What's great about it: Walked through with ease

A Great Product

Very thorough, intuitive, and easy to use. Highly recommended!
Minor criticism: TurboTax sometimes asks for information that I believe it should already have, such as whether the user has a carryforward from a prior year, or whether a particular deduction was taken last year.
What's great about it: Very thorough and easy to use.
What's not so great: TurboTax sometimes asks for information that it should already have.

I've been using TurboTax for many years. It has gotten to where it almost completes itself. Love it.
What's great about it: easy, thorough, quick
What's not so great: um...
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

the lady i talked to helped me work through a problem. i had spent 3-4 hours trying and kept finding roadblocks.
What's great about it: tech support
What's not so great: hard to find phone # and I spent an hour listening to lousy music

Unexpected Extra Fee

I have used Turbo Tax for years because it is an accurate and easy way to file my taxes. This year it would not provide me with forms for some farm rentals that it had provided in previous years and required an additional expense that I was not expecting. I still think that I will use the software next years, but will also look at other options. In the past, I would rely on Turbo Tax being the best way to file my taxes. In the future, I will take time to shop for my best tax preparation product.
What's great about it: Ease of Filing Return
What's not so great: Unexpected Extra Fee

The constant updates!
What's great about it: Pretty easy to follow. Good prompting to provide information. Letting the user know what docs for entry is good.
What's not so great: UPdates..UPdates...UPdates

With all the checks before filing, there should be no need for errors to be caught during the filing process.
Need better explanation of worksheets and how they relate to forms.
What's great about it: easy to move from year to year
What's not so great: the need to make corrections in state return when trying to file.
