Love the TurboTax
on April 11, 2015

I do love the ease and accuracy. I would like more access to outside auto load of my w2 information and allow me to only audit what gets loaded. Otherwise, I have never had tax concern or problem and I feel confident that my returns are accurate.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: I don't think it's fair to charge for efiling one state
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2014 TT
on April 11, 2015

My issue was with K1 forms that had General Category and Real Estate Category. TT only created 1 Form 1116 and kept on flagging a Category error because the K1's had 2 different categories and Form 1116 and the work sheet had the General category. TT should have create a second "Copy" of Form 1116 with the correct category!
What's great about it: Great Phone Support
What's not so great: Form 1116 and work sheet don't work

Buggy
on April 11, 2015
Posted by: DebHA
One bug was that I couldn't switch the recipient 1099-Misc and have the info retained and the other was a request for info for a K1 and S partnership. Cost me about 90 minutes to 2 h to solve the problems.
What's great about it: Easy to use and thorough
What's not so great: This year I experienced two frustrating bugs

Oops

Some of the directions are not as clear as in the past. Dumped my data after I had entered about 85%. (Fortunately, I had saved a copy just in case. Good thing, too.) Did not provide option to file federal return by mail but to file state return electronically. This option apparently available on the state URL, but doesn't allow for prior entries using your regular program to be transported; i.e., requires one to purchase a new edition of TurboTax. Needless to say, I resorted to snail mail for both returns because I NEVER voluntarily give IRS access to my bank account(s) and I owe on my federal taxes this year, but have a refund coming on my Ohio taxes. No need to respond. I'm taking both to the post office todayl.
What's great about it: Easy download, reasonable cost, familiarity with system due to prior use.
What's not so great: limited filing options, not as intuitive as in the past.
Pros: I moved
