I over paid this year and had to buy the Premeir because it did not include stocks. I was not happy about paying more. I do not have rental property.

LOVE the EASE of using TURBOTAX

I love the ease of using TurboTax to prepare my return. IT walks through each section that is pertinent and secures the highest deductions and credits allowed. I am confident in the preparation of my return when using TurboTax.

I've used Turbo Tax for the past few years and it seemed even easier this year than before. Great product at a fair price for the Do-It-Yourselfer.

Expensive

I had to dig to find out how to carry over refund credits from one year to another.
Have used Turbo Tax BASIC for several years. Our life is simple: (income from SS, pension, interest, dividends, and the occasional capital gain/loss). We use standard deductions rather than itemize. This year we were informed we had to use PREMIUM Turbo Tax, but we're not sure it is worth the extra cost (5x) :-(
What's not so great: Didn't ask all necessary questions up front.

After entering the info for the calculation of the taxable portion of my annuity and my wife's annuity, I kept getting error messages that I left the taxable portion blank. After searching the Q & A database, I found no explanation until someone posted that I should look at the 1040 Form. The correct data was entered there so I had to override the error messages several times. i have never encountered such a mistake in Turbo Tax software in my 25 years of using it. Very poor and frustrating. That on top of the giant snafu with the Schedule E on the Deluxe version has really soured me on Turbo Tax. I will think twice about using it next year.

What's not so great: bogus error messages

Investment section very poor

I had to input sections of the detailed transactions three times to get it right. The program would not display prior entries to Box D activity.
It seems to me this section had not been properly de bugged.I'll try again next year, but if it is still a problem I'll find some other software
What's great about it: nothing

Glad you give us back deluxe version we loved

I am sure hoping you keep the Deluxe version the way it was. I won't mind paying a few bucks extra BUT to pay quite a bit more to get the Premier and I didn't need any of those will be too much.
What's great about it: Always easy to use software
What's not so great: was mad when I learned I had to pay for upgrade!!.
