turbo tax easy to use and will walk you through all of the steps if you don't enter on your own. error check is good.
What's great about it: walks you thru filing if you need it
What's not so great: medical deductions not shown till the end

Stocks and Bonds?

It is frustrating that you now must spend an extra $30 to do basic stocks. I do not do super involved investing. Why the change this year?

Easy to complete return

Download capabilities from financial companies are improving. This helps as it's a waste of time to re-enter information the government already has.
What's great about it: Easy to answer questions, easy to navigate to specific areas. Like the carryover of information and reminders

incorrect errors

1040 asked for information from parent's return. Both returns were done with TurboTax. When I entered the information from the parent's return from Schedule D/Qualified Divdends and Capital Gains Worksheet, it flagged it as an error on the child's return and wouldn't allow me to e-file it. How can it be flagged as an error on child's return but not on parent's return?
What's great about it: interview process was helpful
What's not so great: incorrect errors

Have been using TurboTax for years and until this year was very pleased. This year it just seemed to be one problem after another. First I had to buy a much more expensive version do do what I have always done. Then after entering my federal information it chose to forget some of it and I had to waste a day figuring it all out a second time. Next, it didn't remember any of the state information I had entered when I had to fix a single number so I had to enter it all again. Finally it asked me the same questions multiple times when I tried to submit my return. I owed money, your tool should be able to figure that out and not ask me about Amazon gift cards multiple times!
When I thought it was all done I went to fill out your stupid survey but it keeps rejecting my submission because of 'inappropriate language'. Fix your product so my reviews don't need 'inappropriate language'!
What's not so great: Cost, Forgot information, More difficult than normal

I have been using TurboTax for many years and taxes do not seem to be getting easier, but more difficult. However, each year Turbotax seems to be getting easier and easier to work with. If only the folks at Turbotax could take over the IRS...
What's great about it: The complete walkthrough is really done well.
What's not so great: Tax laws are way too complex and combersome. Turbotax makes them understandable.

User Unfriendly

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years and this year was a big disappointment. The site is not user friendly, question are not answered clearly and information is not always correct. Even this review is poorly structured and self-serving.
What's great about it: Not much
What's not so great: No cover sheet, no easy access, poor questions response

Easy Filing

Used TT for the second year. Much quicker and easier the second year. Electronically imported all bank and stock broker forms which was nice. I did have to call customer support to Efile, but the support person was friendly and competent which is rare these days. Didn't have to wait on the phone. They called back like they said they would within 10 minutes.
What's great about it: Easy to use and quick
What's not so great: Had to call for help, but the help was good
