Pros:
You finally recognized that there are other government agencies besides those under the Office of Personnel Management. I didn't have to hand update my state return for a deduction.

Cons:
Having to pay more for the package I've bought for years just for my modest investments.
1099MISC form is used for RECURRING death benefits, not just one time.

Made iIt Through Another Year!

Have used TurboTax for years. That notwithstanding, it is frustrating to see a calculated value in a block and not be able to determine where that number came from. You should be able to right-click or double-click on a value and generate a window with that audit-trailable information.
I also would like to see ability to sort charitable contributions alphabetically, and delete blank lines in between entries.
Other than those things, very happy with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Most entries pretty intuitie.
What's not so great: Very difficult to establish where some specific calculated value comes from.

Disappointed this year

The store-bought software didn't work. After hours of trying to fix the problem a new software download was required to fix. Very frustrating!
What's great about it: Once fixed . . . it worked great

finally, only 2 returns!

finally don't have to do 5 returns because we're a gay couple. phew it was easy this year.
still issues when an imported 1099 is updated by the bank. All of the transactions were duplicated. sigh.
What's great about it: domestic partner support rocks
What's not so great: updating "imported" 1099's

It would be helpful if after income sections are complete, the program gave an indicator of the estimated deductions necessay to surpass taking the standard deduction and a link to just take the standard deduction.

What's not so great: Having to pay to email my state taxes

Used Turbo Tax for 8 years

Don't like that they took functionality out of deluxe forcing you to buy premier, but appreciate how they emailed and handled the upgrade for free this year.
REALLY unhappy that the MAC version required a higher level of software than last year with no email notice!! Last year I got emails telling me the level of OS I needed to run Turbotax 13. This year nothing - just emails about the deluxe upgrade problem. When I went to load Turbotax14 in April I found out I needed a new operating system. Created quite a panic. Otherwise love it
