Easy File

I found that it is thorough and easy to follow. you can do it yourself or let it walk you through.
Best product on the market, bar none.

What's great about it: used it year over year and it got easier each year. totally the best.

some good some bad

I used turbo tax to fill out my joint return for my wife and I as well as individual returns for my two young children. For my joint return, i felt like Turbo tax was easy to use, logical, and helpful. For my children's returns, I felt like the process was overly difficult.
Because my children are quite young and had unearned income, there were sections of their returns that required I enter information from my joint return. Instead of this information automatically transferring over (from within turbo tax), I had to look it up and type it in manually.
There were also sections where I had to enter information from child #2's return on child #1's return and visa a versa. However, since I was in the process of completing the return I did not yet have the information available. To complete this task, I had to toggle back and forth between the two children's returns piece by piece until they were complete. Also I had to write down the questions Turbo Tax was asking me on one child's return, go the the second child's return, write down the answers, and return back to enter in the information (it did not transfer automatically.
My final difficulty was while walking through the step by step instructions for Form 3800 for the california returns for the kids. I reached a section that told me I needed to go to the california tax website and calculate 4 values manually and enter them in. However, the 4 values were hard coded in; I was not able to enter them in or change them. As it turns out, the numbers present were calculated correctly, but the contradiction was confusing, and worried me that other areas may be incorrect.
What's great about it: my joint return was user friendly and easy to follow
What's not so great: My children's returns were quite difficult to fill out

I thought that this year the mandatory charge for the upgrade to Premier was to be refunded upon e-filing, but I didn't see that offered when I filed.
What's great about it: Generally everything was pretty expanatory.
What's not so great: Had to upgrade to the premier version a pay extra with only a few capital gains transactions

Great Software and More Importantly Support

The most distinctive and invaluable service Turbo Tax offers is - live human support with excellent knowledgeable CPA who are willing to patiently unravel the nuances of your situation.
That certainly builds loyalty with the software and support.
Please do not compromise on quality of either...

Filed my returns with ease!

I've been using TurboTax for over twenty (20) years. It has made preparing my annual income tax returns easy. It is a simple program to master. I always feel confident my returns were prepared correctly. It makes my paper return easy to read! This program has prevented me from missing tax deductions and exemptions over the years that has saved me $1,000 in taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Fees to file a state return!

Turbo Tax Saves Time

After My first Time Buying Turbo Tax Premier Ed; I have to say It was a Wonderful Time Saving Product; Especially for Small Estates and Income Taxes. It really Saved Me Some Serious Time; However Sometimes Turbo Tax Will Automatically Fill things out; It would be nice in the Next edition to have a quick video rundown of what turbo tax did to get its numbers. Once I figured out What Turbo Tax did; The rest was Fine; Fixed the Errors myself; Cheaper than a CPA; but if your not sure what you are doing; Be sure to talk to People who have used it before. Thanks Turbo Tax!

Would like better explanation of medical expense possibilities for Oregon state final...ie...Are we able to add all of the medical expenses from the federal form to the state form. It is noted but not explained clearly.

Good, detailed, but boxes not working

This is the probably the 10th year I've used turbo tax, and the first year I've had problems.
The pop up boxes to print or put in information, would not show anything, and then would freeze up if I selected or tried to move them.
Also could not access internet for first time using same computer, because of same problem to pay for state efile.
Just disapointed it did not go smoothly.
What's great about it: Good explanations and details of what needs to be filed
What's not so great: boxes to print or do things would not come up or populate and freeze program
