What's great about it: Continual upgrading and bug fixes

Have been using TurboTax for many, many years and have been very pleased with its ease of use and thoroughness.
What's great about it: Once again, a very satisfying tax prep experience
What's not so great: Not quite clear if I needed to individually "Start" some items or just go to "Continue"

Dead Line life saver

My experience with this company was outstanding. I ended up having to do my taxes at the last minute and that is always when the pressure gets to you. The folks that helped me out all went above and beyond my expectations.

Not as Good as It Used To Be....

I felt that this year's version was totally shaky compared to all the previous versions of TurboTax we've used. We've used the Deluxe version for 10-15 years now but this year I had to buy the Premier version to get the similar type of treatment of my taxes (step by step review).
Problems included: this year I felt the questions weren't clear - they didn't clearly define what information was being asked for in many cases.
Errors I found were many - I had to go into the forms and check off boxes manually to get things right. A major error wasn't flagged until after I started the e-filing procedure and decided to preview the forms. Only then did a warning flag pop up. That's when I found the errors and corrected them manually. If it wasn't so close to the deadline I might have switched to another product.

Don't change Deluxe Desktop

You are giving your loyal customers a reason to try another software product by changing deluxe desktop.
It it is going to be different and not do what we need, why not give another product a try next year.
Taking the Schedule C out of Deluxe was a mess. Some of us are self employed but do not run a big business. We do not need all the additional baggage of a larger program that will only make filing our return harder.
Obama care made it hard enough this year with Turbo Tax making it even harder. I did not appreciate the change. If the change remains, I will try other software next year.
What's great about it: not this year

What's great about it: it is great the way the program takes one thru all steps needed to file one's returns.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

State Hard to Use

TurboTax is far easier than trying to do it by myself. The federal program worked. The state program did not seam to be fully developed.
What's great about it: Import from last year, comparisons to last year
What's not so great: The state program was confusing and hard to get back to a page with an error
Pros: I bought or sold investments
