Makes life much simpler

When it comes to filing my taxes, TurboTax is the top in my book and has been since 1998. Very thorough and complete, easy, accurate - what more can I say - the BEST.
What's great about it: Fast and Complete
What's not so great: Have to pay for e-filing state returns
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Software Changes

I was prepared to change to the H&R Block tax software after hearing Turbo Tax eliminated schedules from the Deluxe version. I hope next year will not become a problem again.

Could not figure out why a form was generated

We received corrected 1099Rs for income reported to a state we had moved from effective 1/1/14. When the corrected amount of '0.00" corrected form was input for that state, a form 8606-S was generated and needed an explanation. TurboTax did not explain why this form was generated or how I could correct it. I finally just took the 0.00 out and put in an explanation I found online. No help here from TurboTax.

Although I did have all my documents and calculations done, it would be helpful to have a checklist of forms and calculations needed, before starting with the actual tax forms
What's great about it: can walk you through each section
What's not so great: somewhat expensive
