Excellent Support

Couldn't download the free upgrade. Excellent service. Expedited a new disc. Then couldn't open the State. Again received quick, pleasant help. He stuck right with me until he got
the State to work. First time I have had to have help. Was very happy with the service.

I have been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years. It is easy to follow, it has a help feature that allows you to find answers. However in 2012 and 2013 Turbo Tax made a big error at the final State review. The mistake was in the amount of the State refund. I was suppose to receive over 3000 refund, I received a letter from the State indicating that my refund was adjusted to 601.00 dollars..
I do not understand this since we did the final review checking for errors and it did not find any errors. If it happens again I am going to stop using Turbo Tax...

Great to have imports from previous years

I've been using Turbo Tax since inception and it works well for me. As a Quicken user, the first years I imported data from Quicken but soon found it was much easier and condensed to enter the W-2, 1099's etc. manually.
What's great about it: Previous year import, step by step
What's not so great: None really for the complexity of tax system

Especially liked the pop up box to enter corrections, rather than entering the tax form itself and trying to correct a mistake.
What's great about it: Easier to use than previous editions.

Everything easily imported from my accounts. Didn't have to transpose a bunch of numbers from paper.

Deluxe Snafu

Worrisome delays and concerns after Deluxe software downloaded. Concerns and doubts aggravated by numerous emails and apologies from Intuit. I'll probably use Turbo Tax again next year, but please get it right from the start.
What's great about it: Step-by-step data entry.
What's not so great: Had to upgrade from Deluxe to Premier because of missing forms/other glitches.

I Miss Older Version

I've been using TurboTax for years and years. Haven't even considered checking out other software.
In the past, when I worked on a entry screen, the HELP icon took me to info for that screen. Now, HELP takes me to "question and answer" module which seldom is helpful. I still have to search for answer.
What's great about it: Calculations carry over to worksheets for state return
What's not so great: "Help" not as helpful as past version

I was never able to load the Illinois State portion of Turbo Tax on my desk top. I tried all of the fixes, removed and re-installed the program. Luckily it worked on my laptop.
I hope next year's version will take care of this problem
