2014 taxes

It did all the work of figuring out my refund/payment and all I had to do is enter a little bit of information. I like the fact that you keep working on the security so refunds don't go to the wrong people

Not worth it this year

need to remove the part were user needs to signin to due their taxes. need to provide a backup alternative to the cloud, like a usb device or cdr, need to secure auto download of information before anyone downloads that info thru you. Yes at that time you should have them sign in to Intuit and use an email or text on file to confirm, like you due with your password reset. need to work with corporations and government to enlist a more secure method of accessing payroll information. 1 the employer provides employee with a pin or key that is required to access their information thru a third party. 2 intuit and other tax software companies require signing using above suggested method. also, before i have to pay for an upgrade you should see if its necessary. I went thru the sale of a house and purchase of a new but was exempt from having to file any info about it as the gain was less then the limit. That's a waste of my money. even thou you credited/refunded part of it.

What's great about it: mostly the same as last years program, but
What's not so great: only option is to backup to the cloud, which I distrust, no faith in corporate security. your a big target

Made it... Only took about 6 hours of preparation and 4 hours of input.
What's great about it: Solutions at my fingertips
What's not so great: Lots of unknown variables

Generally, its been very easy to use and just love the fact it provides you a nice flow and error check to make sure you don't have any mistakes.
What's great about it: Easy to use, lots of great tips and easy to understand explanations
What's not so great: some times it gets stuck on a section and you are not sure if I was done or need to go thru the section
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Love Turbo Tax

Love using Turbo Tax....an accountant friend recommended it to me and have been using for several years. Makes life easy, even if you wait till the last minute to file.
What's great about it: Easy as pie...even for someone who is a zero on tax information
What's not so great: none that I can see
