[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off this is a really nice unit that many people would love to have in their kitchen. I have my issue with it. Yes I know, first world problems.
The good: 6 burners Plenty of heat and control for general cooking, searing etc Sturdy Easy to clean up spills etc
The bad or could use improvement As I said before plenty of heat, for general cooking. However the 20k btu burner flame is very wide, you can only utilize it wit a large pot or pan. With a pan it really heats the outside of the pan surface and not so much the center. Yes I understand that good pans (cast iron, aluminum, carbon steel) will help with this. But cooking with a Wok is not good even with the available wok stand. The 20k btu all go to the sides of the wok because there is not a center flame like true commercial burners. They have a dual ring or star burner to help give even heat. With a wok you want a lot of head under and near the center to stir fry. The frustrating part for me is KitchenAid offers newer burners on the drop in rangetop KCGS556ESS, that do what I want, but not in the slide in models.
Considering this is a "Commercial-Style" product with a price to match, I think they should have more innovation and true commercial style burners, instead of the same design found on the base models, ie the Non Commercial Style.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased all new appliances for my kitchen expansion/remodel and did tons of research, spoke with friends who own all the high dollar brands, spoke with 2 professional chefs. I purchased the Kitchenaid because I could get the High BTU's needed for restaurant quality food in an appliance that was beautiful and had great reviews for a price much less than a used car! I have had it a year and I cook gourmet diddnrs almost every night and this stove does not disappoint!

Installed this a couple of weeks ago after using a JennAir gas cooktop the past 19 years. It's definitely a BIG upgrade. It's so easy to clean with the black porcelain - I just wipe it right off. Would like to make one suggestion; the 20,000 BTU burners would be so much nicer if they had two rings of fire. They're so large, they don't allow food in the center of a large pan to cook along with what's around the edge. Also would be nice to have them in the back while smaller pans are in the front. Otherwise, this is great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live on the island of Molokai in Hawaii so it took a while for us to receive this cooktop. We had to move it and install it ourselves (no installer here either), the instructions took a few re-reads to figure things out, we use Propane gas so had to do the conversion. It all ended up working out, my husband and I got it installed, converted to propane, and it works great and looks great. Very happy with the choice we made.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This range came as a lower end standard in my house, installed by builder. Overall its an ok RangeTop that does what it is suppose to do, less the following issues:
RangeTop clicks randomly on random gas burners, requiring to reset all of them --> painful and often All 6 burners are rusted through and require to be replaced
Given that all of my appliances are KitchenAid, I would say expect 5 years of useful life before they need service/repair which is not bad by any means

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We upgraded our cooktop from a cheap builder grade 4 burner to this beautiful thing. It boils water so much faster and nothing burns to the bottom of the pans. I can easily fit a pot/pan on every burner without disrupting the other pans (something that was impossible to do on our previous cooktop). It is also very easy to clean! Over all, extremely happy with the purchase!

I have been cooking with this range for a month and love it so far, we have looked at Wolf, viking, decor and thermador. looks great, performance is good one little thing though, wish one of the power burner has dual ring burner for a Wok cooking like kitchen aid built in cooktop.

We bought this cooktop three years ago for our new house. We love the look and flexibility of the different burners. The only real issue we have is that both high power burners do not function as well as I would have expected. We eat a lot of pasta and it takes forever to boil water. I was really hoping that because of the high BTUs of the two high power burners, that we would be able to boil the water much faster than our old electric stovetop. The flame on the high power burners seems very wide to me and that may be causing the issue. We have propane, which may be part of the issue as well (I have heard that it can reduce the power some). Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
