I had the previous model for about 3 years but lost it at a parade. I went right to the store to buy one exactly like it. This new one has WiFi which is a surprise. It takes beautiful photos, clear and crisp. It is so easy to use with on-screen instructions but the auto features take the guess out of everyday shooting. It takes panoramic and the zoom is fantastic. I like to photo birds from my kitchen window. The photos look like I am right there. It rivals an SLR camera for photo quality. I have never had problems taking photos in bright sunlight. The screen is bright and easy to see.
I bought this camera 3 years ago and it has been with me on many trips. The pictures are crisp and look great. The zoom is also the best I've ever seen.
I have had this camera for a while and frankly, I have to use my phone to get better pictures. It is advertised as a very good low light camera and the only feature that is acceptable is the video. The flash is extremely strong and lightens up every room, making photos pale and losing a lot of colors. I wish I had gone for a Panasonic.
This Sony Camera has an amazing zoom with crystal clear shots. I have used for some amazing ice pictures at 10 below zero and some great wildlife shots
I love it! It takes crystal clear photos and has great zooming capabilities and takes great night shots. It has a ton of settings that help in any given situation.
After doing some research, I decided on the HX50V due to is functions and size. Especially since it was for travel and wanted something smaller than an SLR. I had read that the shutter speed was slow, but when I got it I really didn't think it would be EXTREMELY Slow. I personally have opted not to use, it as it's frustrating to say the least. I have to say that after being a loyal SONY consumer, this was a big let down.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
