I've had my SFV265 for almost two years now. It's a beautiful looking piece but, sadly, has some serious design flaws. The main issue is that the back of the stand is completely covered by a perforated steel plate. The plate has two small openings for cables on each of the two levels. These access ports are really too small to allow comfortable routing of cables. Other than these very small openings, access to the rear of components on the rack shelves is completely blocked. Cabling an A/V receiver is a nightmare.
Note, too, that shelves are a bit less than 15-inches deep. Most A/V receivers are at least that deep. Again, the restricted depth and blocked back conspire to make cabling anything an exercise in extreme frustration. Ultimately, I broke out my pneumatic metal cutting saw and cut a 17" x 7" opening in the perforated steel plate behind my A/V receiver.
Last thing to be aware of: Shelf spacing. The lower shelf offers something like 7.3 inches of height. Many home theater receivers will not fit in an opening that short and the ones that do may not have enough clearance above for adequate cooling.
Despite the issues outlined above, I still give the stand high marks. It was a struggle but I made it work with my Marantz NR-1607 low-profile receiver. Now that everything's set up and configured, I'm quite pleased with the stand.

Terrible design

I had the prior version of this and it was fantastic. The older model had an open back which provided easy access to the rear of your components. With this newer model, Sanus added a metal screen on the back. The presence of this screen makes it impossible to access your component connections. I don't just mean it's hard to access your connections. I mean it is literally impossible to access them. If you want to add a new source component you have to pull your stereo receiver or pre amp completely out of the unit to connect the cable for the new source component.

Other than the shiny finish on the metal, this is simply a great unit for the money. Would prefer more of a matte or textured finish on the metal, but an overall best buy.
