Unfortunately, I had to purchase 2 before I got the one that works. The first one died within a month. So if you get one that works for a little while, you'll love it.
Pros: wonderful cleaning

I really enjoy this toothbrush, the timer is an added bonus of the great job it does. The only problem I have found is the battery life. Once the original batteries ran out, I have not found a replacement battery that will last more than a week.
Pros: timer
Cons: battery life

The 1st day using this was great, it out proformed anything I had used before.
It was fast, easy to use......but I found that the brush over a week and it would not work all the time. The timed on/off button wouldn't go the total time of 2 minutes. I would need to fiddle with it to get it going. thinking I needed a new head I replaced it (not cheap).
I had purchased 2 toothbrushes one for me the other for my wife. Both have the same problem.
If your thinking that the brush needed new batteries; i had replaced them with new ones.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've been using this brush for almost a decade without any problems. I replaced a rechageable model that lasted about 5 years and than would not hold a charge. I'm using NiMH rechargeable batteries and get about 2 months on one charge.

To whom it may concern,
this is the worst produce by philips sonicare hx3351/02.
the water gets into the batteries,and does not work,i have to replace the batteries often. I have used other philips sonicare products and never had problems.

The Sonicare Xtreme is the perfect electric toothbrush for travellers. I travel a lot and prefer Xtreme because its compact and operates on 2 AA-size, 1.5-volt alkaline batteries. Its also ideal if your camping. Xtreme eliminates the question of voltage consumption as the Voltage varies with countries. Also you dont need to search any power source to charge your toothbrush specially if you are camping with your fiends at high altitudes :P
Overall a great sensible and simple product at a very affordable price. :)

My teeth do not feel clean after using this product

After taking 30 second per section as advised by your information when purchasing this product my teeth do not feel clean. Then I will brush each section once again and still my back teeth still do not feel as clean as when I use a regular tooth brush. The brush is not a good brush and after 3 weeks it looks like I will need to replace it soon. It is cheeply made and designed. In order for my teeth to feel clean I need to brush at least 4 times each section and use a plac remover mouthwash product. I am very disappointed.

I have used sonicare products for many years. I purchased the battery operated xtreme tooth brush thinking that because I did a lot of traveling it would be easier to carry with me. Unfortunately, no matter which brand of batteries I use, I must replace them every 2-3 weeks. This becomes expensive.
I am replacing the xtreme with an essence which is the model I had used for 5 years before the purchase of the xtreme.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
