A Strong Right Hand

I love knife work in cooking, but there are so many times when this little guy does the fine stuff better and faster. It's my second model, and since I got it I've processed chopped liver, essential purrees for Rick Bayless's chiles, starters for Indian keemas, mushrooms for duxelles...it never stops. Our kitchen is very small, but this tool is always there, at hand, with no larger a footprint than a paper towel holder. Yay!

A Must-Have Kitchen Tool for Quick and Easy Food

I recently added the Cuisinart Elite Collection 4 Cup Chopper/Grinder to my kitchen, and it has been a game-changer for my meal prep routine. Here’s why I love it:
**Performance**: This chopper/grinder is incredibly efficient. The powerful motor and auto-reversing SmartPower blade handle everything from chopping vegetables to grinding nuts and pureeing sauces. It delivers consistent results, whether I'm making a chunky salsa or a smooth hummus
**Ease of Use**: The touchpad control panel is straightforward and user-friendly. Switching between chopping and grinding functions is seamless, and the BladeLock system ensures the blade stays securely in place during operation, which adds an extra layer of safety.
**Convenience**: Cleanup is a breeze with this appliance. The parts are dishwasher-safe, and it even comes with a spatula and a recipe/instruction book to get you started. The compact design doesn’t take up much counter space, and the built-in cord storage keeps things tidy.
**Capacity**: The 4-cup bowl is perfect for small to medium-sized batches. It’s just the right size for everyday use, whether you’re preparing a quick snack or a side dish for dinner.
**Design**: The sleek, die-cast construction not only looks great but also feels sturdy and durable. It’s a stylish addition to any kitchen.
**Noise Level**: While it’s not the quietest appliance, the noise level is manageable and a small trade-off for its excellent performance.
Overall, the Cuisinart Elite Collection 4 Cup Chopper/Grinder is a versatile and reliable tool that has made my cooking experience much more enjoyable. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their food prep tasks.

This chopper does a good job at chopping. I like the fact that the blade stays in until you take it out. On the minus side, I find it difficult to assemble and unassemble, and also that it is almost too light weight. I feel I need to hold it down while it is chopping. This was a gift, but if I had a hands on choice, I probably would have given it a pass.

Misleading info?

Some reviews state unit is “die cast-“ leading one to believe the base is made of die cast metal, when in fact it appears to be injection molded plastic.
Works great so far. Does what it’s supposed to do, like the blade lock feature!
My biggest problem will be down sizing recipes to accommodate the size

The cover requires two hands to remove, one to hold the bottom to keep it from turning and one to twist the top. Difficult to clean the inside of the blade. The handle gets moisture inside, when washed, that takes a while to dry out.
Otherwise, very happy with the performance.

Chops evenly, and quickly. Really easy to use, and clean up after. One small difficulty is how hard the lid is to get off after it has been used. Took three of us to get it off after the last batch of chopped pistachios.
