It said it would print 300+ pages and I haven't even printed 50 and my printer is already showing that my ink levels are low

Hi,
I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the page yield. The estimates of pages printed are based on industry standards. How the cartridge will perform in real life situations will vary quite a bit.
Unless the cartridge was damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints (such as photos) will require more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
That said, I have a few tips that might help lower your ink usage: - You can use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings, whenever possible, to save ink. - Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets it ‘park’ so that the printhead is protected from excessive drying.
If you believe that the poor page yield was due to a defective cartridge, please contact us at: hp.com/contactHP
All three colors and black were working great until I installed this HP Cyan. Never printed. Did print head cleaning and Magenta went away. Now all I have is a Black and Yellow printer. All 4 new cartridges were HP 920XL. Changed cartridges probably 6 times before with no issues. I expect more from HP. Not sure why now.

Hi,
I'm really sorry that you had problems with the Cyan cartridge. If the printhead is badly clogged, it might need more cleaning to get the tiny nozzles cleared so that all the inks can get through.
If it appears that it is a printer problem and not just the cartridges and printhead, please contact us. Just use the contact information found at: hp.com/contactHP
It may be only ink, but my HP All-in-One can't function without it. I hadn't noticed that ink levels were down until a document refused to print because of it. In a panic, I went online, signed in to HP.com, ordered my ink, asked for next day delivery and was done in about 5 minutes. Ink was there next day, and shipping was free. The ink is easy to install, functions flawlessly and is not too pricey. I've always used HP ink due to quality, ease of acquiring and my long history with HP products. By the way, I managed to print the needed document by adjusting the color settings, another great feature!
My only wish is that the cartridge s would last longer. I do not use the print function daily and it seems the ink dries out after 2 or 3 months. I print maybe 60-80 pages over a 3 to 4 month period. The color cartridges always dry up.
