Unable to set base address of 378h in windows 10 for use under DOSBOX-X
Response from startech.comBy Dan, Customer Support, April 28, 2021
The PEX1P is a PCIe based card. PCIe does not support assigned addresses. We suggest finding a PCI based card that supports re-mapping of memory I/O ranges.
At this time we do not have a card that supports this feature, we apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Good card plus continued support

Bought this just under two years ago to keep my beloved HP LaserJet 5 going. I fitted it myself (and I'm not famously good at hardware!) and it's been absolutely fine. I've just had to reinstall Win7 from scratch, and the OS didn't install the driver for the card, but it took me less than two minutes to find this page, download the driver and install it. Excellent.

Does not actively support Linux
on June 24, 2022

I bought this card based on its statement of support for Linux. I saw that I had to build the driver but saw that there were instructions to do so. However, the instructions are completely inadequate without consideration for the distribution of Linux or any details on how to troubleshoot build issues. The build scripts make assumptions based on some distribution but do not even list the distribution. Were Linux to be supported, a better build script would be needed to at least check a few distributions and attempt to detect the build environment.
After many wasted hours, I am returning this card.

We are sorry to hear that you experienced difficulty with PEX1P2 as this is not expected behavior for our parallel PCIe card. The PEX1P2 is currently supported with Linux 2.6.x to 5.x LTS Versions only. Our Technical Advisors will be reaching out to you shortly. Atha, StarTech.com Support

Hello,
Thanks for your review. We wanted to offer some clarification and assistance.
The product, PEX1P, is not a discontinued product. Do you by chance have a different product?
As for installing the drivers, here are some helpful installation guides.
Windows Vista through 10: https://www.startech.com/faq/oxford_parallel_install_windows_v7810#PEX1P
Windows XP: https://www.startech.com/faq/oxford_parallel_install_windows_xp#PEX1P
Hopefully, that helps, but please get in touch if you still require assistance.
Thank you.
