The printer works fine, the labels produced are as expected. However the required web service and the installation process are sub par for Mac. A Web service needs to run in the background (visible in the info tray) and multi user setups lead to warning messages on login. On top of that, I can't update our infrastructure to macOS Catalina as the 32bit web service is not supported.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

How about a user manual?

I came to your website to get a manual which you apparently don’t supply with my device. I received it as a gift, now all I want to know is what it is capable of. When I chose the device model on your website and clicked downloads, all I got was an offer to sell me one, reviews, and videos. Your product description “ ...professional labeling, filing and mailing needs” is quite vague. How about I just return it and get something else?

Mailing Address Bar Code Missing

I have had the DYMO Lasterwriter 450 Turbo and have been satisfied with the printer, but the latest release of the software is lacking. I spent an hour trying to add the postal bar code to an address label and finally just gave up. In previous versions it was easy.
I do not know if they removed the capability? I tried using the Bar Code object, but it would not link to the address and when I tried to re-enter the address it displayed an error that there was to much data.
It seems like this would be a check-box in the properties of the Address object, but I don't see anything about the USPS barcode.

Our developers are aware of this issue and are working on resolving it. In the mean time I can recommend using the earlier DYMO Label Software v.8.7.3 as a workaround to this issue. Poor Software

Since the Dymo Connect update no old label from v8.3 for windows will convert properly. Graphics, font size..nothing comes over properly. I give it 3 stars because having to convert 200 labels has given me new purpose in life. Please bring back 8.3 as it was great and my 450 Turbo printed at Turbo Speed (not slow like with Connect).

Please make sure that the labels are inserted correctly; the label part should be facing down and the perforations should be on the left-hand side. Moreover, please remove the front plate where it says LabelWriter 450 Turbo by pulling it towards yourself and check for any obstructions on the roller.

When it works its great

It is fast and simple. That is the good part. The bad is I have to keep power cycling the unit. I have searched and have not found a fix yet. I can print 4 labels anf the 5th it makes a weird sound doesnt feed the label and just a black line. I wonder if anyone else experiences this issue?

Based on the information that you provided, we recommend cleaning your printer to solve the issue. Please use a cleaning card supplied in the original box or a business card moistened with an alcohol solution such as ethanol, isopropyl, acetone, or hand sanitizer, remove the front face cover, take the cleaning card (or business card) and feed it through the print roller 5-10 times making sure to cover all parts of the printer. Try to print again.

Missing Saved Labels

Where did all my labels disappear too? I have had this machine for several years and this has happened one other time. I have re done the labels and saved, but when I exit out and come back they are gone again... Please Help!!!

If your labels were saved then you should be able to locate them in the following folders: <C:\Users\username\Documents\DYMO Label\Labels> and <C:\Users\username\Documents\DYMO Label\Address Books>. After locating your labels, it is possible to browse for them and import them into the DYMO Software.
If you have a Mac, please browse for them in the Documents folder.

Just a pain to keep it working

We have 5 different Dymo labelwriters. They require their own labels, cannot use standard labels, and our computers will often forget the label size. Results are many labels getting wasted during a print run.
