Ice build up along bottom

My refrigerator is exactly 3 years old. Several months ago I discovered thick ice build up across the entire bottom of the freezer compartment which can interfere with ability to pull out the bottom freezer rack. I now need to empty the freezer weekly to remove the ice before the build up becomes too thick. Adjusting the freezer temperature control doesn't help. I have never used the ice maker. Does anyone who has experienced this problem have any idea on how to fix before I call service?

Our previous side by side went out and after some research we bought a whirpoool with a bottom freezer. The unit works great and the bottom freezer provides much more usable storage than the side by side it replaced. The only design issue is the lack of a butter compartment in the door and it is a bit noisy when it dumps ice. In general though the unit is well built and very easy to access. I would recomend it to a friend. Great product.

I love the freezer on the bottom. I do wish the shelves were split instead of full. It is smaller than my last refrigerator but serves our needs. If you have more than three people in you family, I would suggest you get a larger size. Overall, great refrigerator.

I am very pleased with this product and the even cooling mechanism which prevents foods from spoiling. I am very happy with the fact that I know my foods will stay fresh for a long time. thank you and I thank the store, Loew's in Hudson, NY for the salespeople who worked with me and treated me wonderfully. They deserve bonuses.

My previous refrigerator was a side-by-side with the ice in the door which spoiled me for the convenience, so I've had to get used to taking the ice tray out of the fridge to fill the glasses.

I really love this refrigerator. I like that I don't hit my head when I come out of the refrigerator on to the handle of the freezer. I love the whole style of the whirlpool refrigerator and freezer. It is so roomy and has a lot of storage space. It is so much easier to clean and see your food when you open the door.I want to thank whirlpool for my refrigerator.
