Broke after 14 months

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this range in August 2011. It worked great for the first 13 months. However, about two weeks ago, the whole range would just turn off. No clock, lights, not a thing. The only way to get it to reset and run was to turn on a burner. After that, we would be good to go. However, now it won't do anything. Turning on a burner gets you a light on the controls, however, it does not warm up. The clock will come on with the burner turned "on", but no heat in the oven. Right now, this range is just an expensive cabinet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The hidden oven coil is great making it much easier to wipe up a spill and was the reason for choosing this range. I have not used the self cleaning feature of the oven yet. The oven window is large so you can seek what is happening without opening the door. It does an excellent job on cakes, cookies, meat, and meals. The burner that allows you to select the size is a wonderful feature. The oven takes longer to heat than my previous one. There are 2 features that my old range had and that I miss. The timer does not ring loud enough - you can barely hear it in the next room (a problem for people as they age) and it keeps ringing until you turn it off. When the oven is heating, it does not show the temperature and you do not have the ability to change the temperature in the preheat phase, but have to cancel and start over. Other than those 2 things, I have very pleased with the range.

Really a Great Stove

I have had this stove for over 9 months now. It works really well. I love the feature that I can use one of the burners as very large or very small by the flip of a switch. I don't like that it takes a very long time to preheat. It has taken up to 25 minutes to preheat to 425 degrees and this was in the summer and the inside temp in our house was 80 degrees. Other than the overly long preheat time it cooks food evenly and has been fantastic. We haven't had any problems at all and would definitely recommend this stove to anyone who is looking to buy one.

We purchased this stove a few weeks ago and have been very happy with it. I love the way it looks and the steam clean feature is wonderful. I love not having to fight with an exposed element in the bottom of the stove in order to clean it.

great appliance for the money

pros: smoothtop heats fast, easy to clean; tru-temp oven system is a great simple feature; oven controls are basic to understand.
cons: oven preheat is slow; oven "clicking" sound while cooking is a little annoying (engineering needs to silence this).
overall, very satisfied and would highly recommend as a basic smoothtop stove.

Welcome relief from my previous oven

Reading from the other reviews I thought the double burner would boil water faster than it did. The steam cleaning portion, I have never experienced this function before with an oven, it didn't have an easy clean off of soils as I thought, they did come off with a little elbow grease and I was happy it didn't heat up the oven or the home as hot like I thought it would. Otherwise, very satisfied with oven. Purchased Feb 2012. If you have a basic knowledge of computers you can easily figure out the display. Time display of cooking timer and kitchen timer seem redundant.

Good product, but could be a little better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this Range for almost a year now. Over all, it does what any good stove should do. If I were to add anything, it would be a change in the lights indicating "On" and "Hot" burners. It's important to most people to know what's happening on that glass top. Is the burner actually ON, or is it just still hot after being turned off? The Range should have a RED light for active burners, and a YELLOW light for hot burners that have been turned off. This way, there's no confusion, especially with older users. Since this is my first glass top stove, I wasnt sure what to expect as far as heat on the burners. It appears to not get as hot as my previous stoves. I cant get a hard rolling boil from the burners like I'm used to, but I still get a boil so that's OK. Finally, the bottom drawer appears "unfinished", like it's lacking something like chrome or something. I thought it was missing a finishing piece but was wrong. That's just the design. All in all it's a good stove, but with a few tweaks, it could be a great stove.
