Perfect for the T.V. Room

Towards the end of a long winter on the East Coast; I realized that the wimpy surge protector was not offering any thing of value against the brown-outs and blackouts. I used APC's Trade-Up program; I surrendered an old 500VA (dead battery) unit, to obtain the "APC Back-UPS ES 8 Outlet 650VA." I received the new UPS in only a couple of days. The installation of the UPS was simple and quick. Within a couple of days the UPS was tested by another black-out. This 650VA units worked perfectly to support; 50" Plasma, Sony 7-channel A/V receiver, XBox-360, and a small network switch, for several minutes without an issue. I then choose to turn off the equipment when the power did not return.
I highly recommend this product for any power solution; including the very expensive TV Room equipment.

It took me less then a minute to install this product and have it up and running fully. I have heard a lot of positive things about APC back-up UPS's. It is certainly a product that more then pays for itself when your equipment is protected from damage byu a brown out or surge.

Simply a must have

A UPS is a must if you live in an area that has power outages from time to time. With this product, i am able to gracefully turn my computers off without the worry of did my files get corrupted due to a power failure. This product reacts to any hiccups that I have in power, while before when I was in the middle of something my computer would turn off.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product meets all expectations and then some. Great UPS, including great software. It keeps me very informed while not in in 'overbearing' fashion. Buy it---you will be entirely pleased.

APC Back-UPS ES 8 Outlet 650VA 120V was an upgrade form a similar style 500VA unit I bought something like 5 years ago, which operated perfectly. I decided to upgrade and recycle the whole unit with APC. The return package was thicker than three inches so it couldn't be dropped in a UPS drop box, so I just left it at the UPS store, no problem.
I use the unit on one of my media centers, not on a computer system. Never had a damaged component due to any of the many power outages and lightning storms we have had.
I like the long run time, easily replaceable battery, the wide spacing for the four of eight jacks that accommodate AC/DC adapters and the solid construction.
My only gripe is that the Power Outage alarm cannot be silenced. In the future, please include that feature and give us the option of a visual alarm, like a flashing LED or strobe light.
And please, please increase the amount of time for writing a review without warning us that an automatic log off is imminent which erases everything we wrote to that point forcing us to start over when we indicate that we want to stay logged on. Aaaagggghhhh!

Great Battery

I purchased this battery to replace my previous backup battery that was no longer holding a charge. Set up was very easy, and the battery and software have been performing perfectly. We have a lot of little brown-outs where I live, particularly when the weather is bad and this battery has been able to handle it without a problem! A big plus for me was being able to recycle my old battery when I made my purchase!

This is my third APC battery/surge protection I have owned. I can't think of a better battery back up system available. This is the first time I've used the software that came with the unit. Very impressive and non-intrusive. I would recommend any of APCs products.
